The beauty of The Yoga Lounge is that they are offering something slightly different from bikram…read moreyoga - as the classes don't follow the traditional 26 poses. I feel as though classes are lot more organic, allowing the teachers to really work with the class - I swear I'm making progress already in my first two weeks! The teachers are really great, I love the variety, as each practitioner has their own flows and style of teaching. Everyone is super friendly and happy to give tips and advice after classes too. Specialising in hot yoga, the classes last between 60-75 minutes and at the moment they have three classes per day with two a day at the weekends. They also offer hot pilates, which is a great workout for your core. And plan to open a full pilates studio in the next month or so with Stott pilates, reformer and GYROTONIC® classes. It's a great set up, really well designed space and the hot room itself is a nifty piece of kit - using heat panels on the roof that allows for continual fresh air and a germ free environment to practice in (or I've been told it's something along these lines). There's an online booking system to ensure you get onto the class you want. The evening practices book up pretty quickly, but the lunchtime hour always has a few free spaces. Each class has a waiting list and for every wait list I have been on so far, I've been offered a space in the class. This is a more modern yoga alternative that fits really easily into a busy lifestyle, uniquely balanced to help improve both your fitness and inner calm.

I've never done any kind of yoga before coming to The Yoga Lounge. When you first walk in you…read moreimmediately know you're in a great space for learning how to connect mind, body and spirit. You can tell they've spared no cost, everything is top quality- the radiant heat panels, the studios, the changing rooms... A wonderful atmosphere and the teachers are warm and friendly, so even the newest yogi won't feel intimidated. I was looking for something to fit in with my life in recovery. As an ex-addict following a 12 step programme, spirituality and meditation are fundamental to my life, as well as keeping some kind of balance which is hard in 'normal life'. I struggle to concentrate in normal meditation, and find the self discipline. My first four weeks attending The Yoga Lounge have had a massively positive impact on my life and my mental well being. I've found my place and my thing in life here. The teachers are great, all with their own style and pace, and every week I've felt an improvement in my yoga though their amazing guidance in classes. Everybody needs to try this. I hope to progress and commit to yoga now, and couldn't think of anywhere better.

Ok. Let's firstly establish that I dislike exercise. I am a cake-eater and have a sedentary job…read more Exercise is a chore. However, post-Christmas gorging (I know it's March) has made me finally get bum in gear and do something about it. So with a ten day voucher in my hand, off I went with slight trepidation. Everyone always seems to know what they are doing in these places and always seem to be lying across some equipment with a massive amount of weight on looking healthy!! However, I must say that this wasn't like every other gym i have been into.... it really was about the fitness rather than the posing and the impressive atriums (atria? my latin fails me)! You walk in and the gym is essentially a warehouse rammed with equipment and people actually doing stuff. not sweaty and musty, but cool and, dare i say it, almost pleasant smelling! I have no discipline to do training on machines myself so off I went to a circuits class in the large studio... which was a bit odd, but that's another story. Then pilates, with the lovely Jo. For some reason, i thought pilates was like Yoga! how wrong was I! ow. Anyway, the whole gym is fit for purpose. pleasant changing rooms, modern equipment and I ache from the classes, which is good, right? no pain, no gain?! gah I just still couldn't justify paying all that money when i should be walking my dog and could be digging the garden over or walking up and down the stairs... energetically! PLUS how many butterfly buns would £30 by me?!

I've had nothing but problems with trying to cancel with this company…read more I should have checked the reviews - there are REAMS of bad reviews about how they charge people once cancelled and then refuse to refund. Also they'll then send letters and debt collectors even though the contract is finished ! Here's the trustpilot link : https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.xercise4less.co.uk I wish I'd never joined. If you suffer with this too - make sure you leave a bad review to stop other people having the same problems. Gyms ok, bit dirty, but equipment is ok to use. You just end up paying forever as they won't let you cancel !!

I joined up to the Leeds Xercise4Less gym only a couple of weeks ago, but it's seriously impressive…read morefor such a cheap price. Usually you pay £15 a month, which gets you access to all the gym equipment and all of the classes that the gym offers. Compared to the bigger gyms, this is a ridiculously cheap price, and I wondered what the catch was going to be. Now, there isn't a swimming pool or a sauna, or basically any luxuries whatsoever. However, I couldn't care less! There's loads of classes on offer, and although I haven't tried one yet myself, a couple of people I know who have say they are good stuff (and not remotely half baked as a thought they might be, again because of the cheap price). The gym equipment is also very impressive - there's absolutely loads of running machines, cross trainers and cycling machines, meaning you will never ever find you can't get on one. A lot of the weights machines also have more than one of each, so there'll always be something you can get on, although you might have a short wait for some of the more popular machines, but this is easily forgiveable. There's even a 'combat zone', which includes punch bags and even a boxing ring. I'm gonna have to get in there with a friend at some point for a friendly punch up/wrestle (!), but again it's a welcome addition for anyone who might want to use such things. So really there isn't a proper catch. The price is low because they just cut out loads of unnecessary things and basically keep staff to a minimum. I actually got a voucher code when I was joining up and am paying £10 a month. If I'm honest this lower price would also probably mean I wouldn't go as much if I was going alone, but luckily I go with 2 others after work so we make each other go (or as it actually is, one of the others is motivated and this makes us go!). Basically, jump on this!! Although not too many people - it wouldn't be quite as good if the place was rammed constantly!
