If Gilroy ever needs an "Ambassador of Good Will" and a "Chief Smiles Officer", I recommend Kim and Sarah from Leedo Art Framing. They are beautiful people!
We moved to Gilroy in 2018 from Willow Glen. It's only 25 miles away, but right away, people seemed different to me here in Gilroy. I'm not knocking San Jose people. But I noticed it right away after moving here and walking around. Gilroy folks seemed indeed friendlier in general, more open and polite, less stressed.
Everywhere in town, from the grocery checkout counter to the dog groomers and yes, the Art Frame Shop, there's a sense of a genuine neighborhood here. And all you have to do to be part of it is "be" here and be nice to belong. It's a warm, welcoming, community feeling that reflects on everyone and encourages reciprocal good vibes. I noticed a sort of down-home, friendly, cordial air of inclusivity here; a Gilroy "welcome with open-arms" from almost everyone I met. But never was this genuine, friendly warmth so noticeable as with Leedo Art Framing's Kim and Sarah. I actually got hugs the first time I met them both!
So far I've had three pieces framed at Leedo. The first was a very large, signed print that hangs over our fireplace. It is huge, over-sized because it was signed with personal comments by the artist. Kim suggested a way to include the artists penciled comments by creating an oversized mat to allow room for the signature and comment to remain uncovered by the mat.
The second art piece we had framed at Leedo was a one-hundred twenty-one year old marriage certificate of my great grandmother's, (married in 1901). It was created by hand with calligraphy and hand painted flowers in the margin. It has sentimental value and looks great in our loft.
Most recently I had another favorite Wyeth print framed by Kim. It's from the Brandywine River Museum. It brings back memories from my hometown area back in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania where I grew up.
Shop locally. It does more to improve your life and your town that almost anything else you can do by spending money. Support the local economy every chance you get. There are Nice people here in Gilroy. Gilroy is special. Let's promote that.
No one and nothing are better examples of Gilroy goodness than Kim and daughter Sarah at the Frame shop. Stop by just for the pleasure of meeting them. Have a look around at all the art. I'm betting that by the time you're ready to leave, there will be a smile on your face. read more
