Horrible... they will not sell replacement parts for there products to NY state because they reached there limit for the year?!??!?!?! I am saddened that this ii how they do business... I was told to buy the same item from a distributor and pay 2 times as much as 2 parts would be shipped. They claimed that Nexus Tax laws are what are prohibiting them from doing business... the law says you need to collect NY tax if you make $500,000.00 in taxable retail sales and have 100 transactions over a rolling 4 quarters. I would not do business or buy anything they make if that is how they want to treat loyal customers. read more

I bought a Lee single stage press for the same reason many others do...price. There was a hiccup when I first got it because the priming tool was defective. I called and they said I was using it wrong. I'm halfway decent understanding mechanical things, and I could see they didn't mill out half of the opening the primer should pass through. Fortunately for me, I live 40 minutes away from them so I drive there and showed them, and they handed me a new one. Fine. Problem solved. I've used it for about four years, and it's working fine for me. Maybe this was just bad luck...quality control having a bad day. So now I purchased a Pro 4000 progressive press kit for 9mm, since now it's actually cost effective to load your own in that caliber. Something didn't look right, and the base plate couldn't possibly hold 9mm shells. I called, and they said they would hand me one if I drove out there, but they were closing soon so they wanted me to take a photo to bring with me. While doing that, I looked much closer and found THEY INSTALLED THE SHELL HOLDER UPSIDE DOWN (see photo). Come on, Lee. Get some decent quality control going over there, or take the word "Precision" out of your name. That's a 100% rate of poor quality control on products I bought from you. Honestly, I gotta say I'll save up a little longer and spend more on a different brand just to avoid whatever the NEXT quality control issue would have been. The press seems to be working. I don't like the primer loader, so I'm hand loading the primers and skipping that on the Pro 4000. That's okay with me, I have multiple dies in 9mm so I can de-cap the entire run before hand then load as I like. Lee, if you're reading this, you have a QC problem that needs to be fixed. read more

I know some guys aren't fond of Lee, but I've generally had good luck. I have a Loadmaster that I use for handgun calibers and it works fine. With that being said, it does take some tinkering to make it work as it should, but it does work very well. If you aren't mechanically inclined, it's probably not the press for you. I also have a Lee Anniversary single stage press that's probably close to 30 years old that I still use. It's getting a bit worn but between me and my friends using it, the thing has literally done hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammo, plus resizing cast bullets and de-priming cases before hitting the pin tumbler. Is their equipment the "best" on the market? Nope. However if you want to make very good ammo and not break the bank when buying equipment - Lee equipment is right for you! read more

I am beginning to understand why many aren't fond of Lee products. I had 3 of the Auto Primes and when all the lids broke within a few weeks, I contacted Lee. I was told that they no longer produce this model because it was unsafe but would be happy to sell me their latest design for $25 apiece. A reputable manufacturer of reloading equipment would want to get any potentially dangerous items out of circulation, both for the sake of customers and the company. That Lee just wants to use such a situation as an excuse to sell a replacement tells me all I need to know about Lee as a company and their products. The supposed satisfaction guarantee and "limited lifetime warranty" are carefully worded and translate into "we sell junk and when it breaks, we'll sell you different junk." I also have other brands of higher-end equipment (I don't think I can mention names, but blue and green) and in the past had always defended Lee as inexpensive-but-workable reloading gear for a beginner to learn on and the alleged guarantee was part of the reason. Not anymore. I'm now firmly in the "don't take a chance with Lee's cheap crap" camp. read more

I am done with LEE. Invested into several LEE Loadmasters and so far was actually a fan of their products. They work for me and they had good customer service. Now one of my presses broke and I need some replacement parts. Everything shows up on their website and they even offer the parts at no cost (besides ridiculous $18 shipping), but when trying to check out, they claim they cannot ship to my state and claim some bogus nexus tax limit - they pretty much list half of the U.S. where they cannot deliver parts to. I am wondering why NO OTHER COMPANY sees a problem in providing customer service to all customers in all states and even globally. Their phone support was friendly, but told me to simply buy the needed parts at one of their resellers. None of the resellers even had the parts in their program. Now, I have a $350+ door stop sitting here because LEE is too f..ing dumb to provide replacement parts? Not with me. LEE comes off the list and I will spread the word... read more

So I bought a reloading stand and it was missing one of the 3 bolts that hold the base plate to the press. No problem, just go to the hardware store and get another....Only these bolts can't be purchased at the hardware store. No problem, I'll just contact Lee customer service and have them send me a bolt......Only they required me to send them pictures of the receipt and all of the hardware that I did get! (For a bolt?) :-( Once I did that, they then accused me of using one of the 3 bolts to hold the optional extension table. Only I didn't. I bought a standard carriage bolt to hold that. So then took some more time to send them more pictures of the different heads on the bolts. ...Sigh... In the end, the CS rep. told me she would send me the .50 bolt no charge. Really? That bolt probably costs them less than .10 each. Now I am not putting down the quality of their products! I am more than happy with the reloading products I have from Lee Precision. But the way they dealt with me as a customer is definitely lacking. Just goes to show, Treat your customer right and they'll tell a friend. Treat them wrong and they'll tell 10. read more

I bought a 38/357 die set and it was missing the bullet seat plug. I didn't want to go through the hastle of shipping stuff back, etc. The die set was only 40$ on gunbroker. I called Lee and told them and they shipped me a replacement for free but charged me $10.00 for shipping. The set was worthless otherwise, so I paid the $10 bucks. I was in need of some replacement parts that broke after a few weeks of using them . I went to there website and was able to get the parts for free and only pay shipping BUT......when I went to check out and pay they refused to take my money because I lived in Washington state and they said they had reached there "tax nexxus limit" . Well if you are going to sell your press sets in Washington state then you should have to stand behind your warranty that you are so fond of bragging about .They told me to go to one of there dealers but when I called them they said "we dont replace parts you dont buy from us and we only replace THOSE parts that you do buy from us for a few months. They told me to contact Lee personally as they have a lifetime warranty. OOPS tried that . They no longer are interested in selling from there website to people in my state although they are perfectly happy with selling there products to consumer business's in my state. If you are going to be in business and sell your products to people in any state you should be required to stand behind your warranty you brag about when your parts break and by the way Lee parts break often and I mean OFTEN !!! but that was ok as they gave you the first part free and all you did was pay shipping but they no longer stand behind there cheap parts so I would absolutely never buy from them. I called RCBS and told them what happened and they sent me my part free as a good gesture of positive business ethics even though it was Lees part that broke not theirs . I am now after 10 faithful years no longer a Lee Precision customer and am a RCBS customer. Also as the president of my Spokane gun club with 1800 members when they ask me about reloading companies I will no longer say Lee and will say RCBS !! read more

I spoke with Peter on the phone because my power cutter cuts my casings to 2.483 and loading books recommend a minimum of 2.484. It bothered me that this was the LONGEST length I could trim to. Something is obviously wrong with the cutter. Peter proceeded to tell me things that might be wrong with the cutter and said it could have a misplaced chip when it was assembled but did not/would not tell me how to disassemble it. He said the disassembly is in the instructions but it is not. He said the adjustment ring might be bad and they could send me a new one and if I eventually found it isn't the adjusting ring I could send the cutter back to have evaluated. Wow, it will only take me a month to get a properly functioning cutter. When I called back a few minutes later they answered the phone and said I could call back Monday. Not the customer service I expected from Lee. Very disappointed. read more
