They met with me and walked through my situation. After working with them for several weeks they determined that what I owed was accurate. I paid them but determined that there was no need to go to a CPA for my tax situation, as I verified doing the taxes myself was accurate and not overly difficult. I imagine as taxes get more complicated that needing a CPA may be necessary. There was some period of time where my questions were going unanswered but they eventually got resolved, although slower than I had hoped for. A good local business!

Untrustworthy, seek service somewhere else. A few years…read moreago, Mark fabricated numbers on my rental account that triggered an IRS audit, when I confronted him, he admitted it was his mistake but offered to represent me during the audit for $$$$ instead of owning his error, he charged me money to fix it and after that he requested another payment because he considered the first payment as an initial payment, which he didn't mention that prior in handling the case. I was grieving at that time and didn't have the energy to fight with him. After that year, I took my business elsewhere because he cannot be trusted.

We have a lot of family who own businesses and have tax professionals they swear by. We used those…read moretax professionals for some years but found their expertise was only in working with established companies who wanted their books handled for them. Since we are poking around with different side business ideas, we really needed somebody who can provide not only tax and book services but also advice on getting a business started and what the tax implications are. We have found Mark to be very helpful getting things figured out and in providing advice, even fixing some mistakes we made opening LLCs along the way that could have cost us thousands in penalties. He really saved us big time! We are very grateful for his services and recommend him to everyone who is looking for tax advice. We give our absolute highest endorsement of this company and the services provided.

I find they give you minimal attention and charge a lot. We sat with a really nice guy named Carlo who took his time on mine and my boyfriend's taxes. The best part ... it was $250 each. He gave us advice on ways to save more for the upcoming year and had an overall good demeanor. I would definitely recommend this place. I'm making an appointment to go back for my 2014 taxes!

That would at least be understandable.) When trusting someone with your finances, we expect someone who cares....which is why we chose a smaller Manayunk firm instead of one of the big Philly firms. Somehow, there seems to be no regard for customer care or personalized service...or any service for that matter. Since it seems clear the JEM&Assoc and our "accountant" Brian seem not to value our business in the slightest, we will be taking our business elsewhere. I don't have time to chase people who I am paying to do a service for myself and my family. If you need further clarification of the situation, it's been almost a month since my first email, a week since my follow up email asking if he had an alternative preferred method of communication, and three days since I called his office and left a message. We had to file an extension, so we are-in fact-working under a deadline. This isn't the first time we've been disappointed with their professionalism...but it will be the last.
