Dr. Edwards entered the room, sat and listened to my acne life story from beginning to end. Her genuine concern and determination to provide a lasting solution was so comforting. The initial regimen she subscribed didn't provide the results she was satisfied with, so on the next few visits she tweaked the regimen until she was satisfied with the results. But the visits weren't all about her satisfaction! Dr. Edwards informed me that she was quite the perfectionist and told me to slow her down or say pause if it seemed like she was seeking perfection beyond my comfort zone. As months went by, my face totally cleared up. I've suffered with acne off and on since I was 15 years old and my face has NEVER looked this good. I've had a clear face before, but there would always be bumps under the surface. My complexion is as close to flawless as I've ever experienced. In my first visit, I was almost in tears due to the severity of my acne. I would cry myself to sleep each night and didn't want to leave the house during the day. Dr. Lin & staff: 5/5 stars Dr. Janet Lin is hands down the best medical professional I've ever worked with. I've been plagued by persistent acne for the past 10+ years, and tried just about every treatment in the book with the exception of Accutane. Through my skin journey, I've worked with a number of dermatologists - some good, some bad - but Dr. Lin has opened my eyes to what top notch care looks like. During my first appointment with Dr. Lin, I was initially assisted by Gabby, who was highly professional and very attentive. After meeting Dr. Lin (and being blown away by her professionalism, upbeat personality, and bedside manner), I expressed my hesitation to try Accutane, as it is a pretty intense medication. Dr. Lin assured me that under her guidance, treatment with this medication would be a safe and (semi) comfortable process. I'm about 2 months into my Accutane treatment, and am so impressed with how Dr. Lin has addressed my concerns, questions, and overall treatment plan. DermAssociates as an entity - 3/5 stars: Overall, the front desk service at DermAssociates is fine. However, through DermAssociates, it is very difficult to contact your physician outside of an appointment. Past medical associations that I've worked with have always had some sort of online portal set up, through which you could contact staff of your physician. This made it painless to ask questions regarding prescription help, scheduling, etc. However, through DermAssociates, this is done by calling the front desk and having them relay a message to the care team. In my experience, this process has not gone smoothly at all. I had an urgent issue with my pharmacy that needed to be resolved, and it took me 2 days to get through to my care team - not cool!
