I spent an hour and a half researching a purple arrangement with an angel keepsake for a family navigating a profound loss. I bypassed Teleflora, paying a custom markup to support this local shop directly. On Thursday, I spent 20 minutes on the phone confirming inventory. I paid for the absolute highest tier, which is the Teleflora Premium Beautiful Heart Bouquet, Item T274-3C. I gave explicit, non-negotiable instructions that I wanted a dark purple profile to match the tall Lavender Stock flowers, absolutely no pink tones, and no other flower or greenery substitutions. I requested the pink-striped Alstroemeria lily be replaced with purple or lilac if possible.The delivered item breached our contract through severe shortages, cheap substitutions, and terrible mechanics. First, the Premium recipe mandates 4 tall stems of dark purple Stock to frame the angel symmetrically. They provided only 2 stems, clumping them on the left and leaving the right bare. Second, it mandates 2 full stems of white Asiatic Lilies. They provided only 1 stem, which was a completely closed, tight, green bud. Using an unopened bud for an immediate sympathy event leaves a gaping hole where a white flower belonged. Third, they shorted the rose count, providing 5 instead of the required 6. Fourth, they completely omitted the required premium greens, which are Dusty Miller and Lemon Leaf. Instead, they stuffed the base with basic Leatherleaf Fern, the CHEAPEST filler in the floral industry, to make it appear larger. .Most insulting was the total disregard for color. They used warm magenta or fuchsia carnations and pink-striped lilies. This completely violated my instruction that the arrangement not pull pink whatsoever, shifting it into a pink and purple palette that was dominantly pink. Mechanically, the roses were jammed together into a messy clump rather than framing the angel canopy.When I called, the employee was incredibly polite and professional, agreeing on the color and design flaws. However, the owner refused accountability. The owner falsely claimed the premium recipe only calls for 1 lily stem and offered a measly 20 percent discount or to send a driver to take back the flawed arrangement and swap it. Intruding on a grieving family to swap an arrangement like a retail return during an unexpected tragedy is tone-deaf and unacceptable. I refused the offers and am taking my military-affiliated business elsewhere permanently.
