He really thought about his approach and took his time stitching both areas that were close to each other to minimalize the scarring. I remember him going back and forth from one side of the table to the other to really look at the area as he proceeded, he was meticulous. He also was very calming, talking to me as he worked. No one can detect the scar even after I point it out. About a year later, I had Moh's surgery again for a area on my nose. This time I needed a graft (gulp). I did a rhinoplasty which he botched and I needed to have it redone. Of course dr. D denied any responsibility but I had a hole in my septum following his rhinoplasty which caused me breathing problems and I had fixed by Sam linn at beth Israel. I also had lipo w a bbl done by dr. D. I can admit that came out good but what I can say is he was highly inappropriate and antagonist towards me when I was at the hospital the day of my surgery. First I had not really wanted a bbl. He suggested I do it and he didn't charge me much additional because he wanted to do it (he was trying to make a name for himself with this specific procedure). I wanted lipo for my disproportionate thighs. So the day of my surgery he brings in a magazine and is showing me pictures of J LO and saying he's going to make my butt really big. Which wasn't what I wanted. He also made a comment to my mother asking her "what they call a lower back tattoo?" Because I have one. Referencing a tramp stamp trying to antagonize me and my mom who drive me bc I was having surgery. So incredibly inappropriate! With both of these surgeries I can tell you everything you read is true. His success rate is about 50%. So you have a 50/50 chance of having a good or bad outcome. In my opinion, you are better off elsewhere. I can also tell you yes he will be non responsive if you have a bad outcome, deny responsibility etc. He will be hours late to all of his appointments with you. I never was seen on time and on average was always about 2 hours late... once it was clear he was out shopping with his girlfriend and just left me waiting for my follow up. Do not be impressed that he is on newbury street! He can pay the rent. That is the only prerequisite to being able to have a business on newbury street. Rest assured nobody is looking at his credentials before giving him a lease.

Please do not go here…read more I wanted to make sure I was seeing a surgeon that knew what he was doing, had good results and from the pictures I found on Del Vecchio's website I thought that he would be the right fit for me. I read countless reviews, both positive and negative trying to ignore the negative ones. I wish I didn't and I wish I listened to them. I got a rhinoplasty by him in Oct 2018. Being on Newbury St, I expected a high level of service. From the moment walking in, the ladies at the reception weren't the friendliest. Del Vecchio himself lacked the bedside manner that I was used to. We sat in a small dark room where he took photos of my nose. He then morphed my nose into what we both had desired and thought was achievable. My nose was more complicated because it didn't have a lot of heigh to it. That was a concern I told him. The photos speak for themselves. As you can see immediately post op, my nose was incredibly upturned. Fast forward to 2021 - 3 years later and the swelling has finally subsided and it has revealed all the imperfections and irregularities created by him. You can see my nose has dropped significantly because he did not build up enough support. It almost looks like an indent was created. A piece of cartilage was also visible at 1 month post op, which I told him was a concern because I could feel and see it. He just brushed it off and said it was cartilage and it's what's holding up the nose. At my 6 month post op the indent was starting to become visible and I told him I was not happy. He gave me the option to get filler. I did not want to do that because I wanted a permanent result. This cartilage piece, now at almost 3 years post op is incredibly visible and looks as if it's about to pierce through my skin. It's embarrassing. I've called the office, left voicemails, sent emails and have gotten no response from the doctor or anyone working there. I had no choice but to get a revision rhinoplasty from another surgeon. I would never let him touch my face again. He seems too busy doing BBLs at this point. Whatever you do- don't go here.

Being Irish and with a family history of skin cancer, it seems like I constantly have to have moles removed for one reason or another-- sometimes cosmetic. Anyone else who has removed a mole from my body has left a massive scar. But Rick removes one and it's as if it never existed. It is why I travel four hours to see him. I had a laser peel done with a friend yesterday. The procedure itself was fine and we're red as…read moreexpected. However, we had an unsettling experience. I had booked the procedure--after a consultation with the surgeon, Dr. Lee--for my friend and me, and was told by "Lisa" that "squeezing" us both in would not be a problem, since the procedure itself is very short (5 mins) and it's the numbing that takes time. When she checked us in, she seemed surprised that there were two of us, but ultimately said it was fine. It all seemed pleasant and we were excited about our treatment. Lisa then spent about 20 minutes or so with us in the treatment room, filling us in on what to expect, taking pictures, and applying the numbing cream. Three of us were making small-talk, and Lisa, who was extremely friendly, was bubbly, smiling and laughing occasionally (as we all were). She said she had to run out to get some paperwork for us, and would be right back, but she never returned. We were left waiting for what seemed like a long time, wondering where she was. We were surprised to see Dr. Lee enter the treatment room instead of Lisa. He leaned against the counter facing us (our faces covered with numbing cream), arms crossed, looking quite serious. He announced that he had something to tell us, and he was going to be completely honest because that's how he deals with his patients. (This is nearly verbatim.) We felt nervous at that point, like, ugh, after all this we are not getting our treatments. There was a lot of buildup before he finally got to the point. He said that the truth is that Lisa was not in shape to do the treatments because she was so upset about the miscommunication at check-in. And we should not say anything about this to her, "she would kill me if she knew I told you." Huh? Bottom line was that he was going to our treatments instead of Lisa. He could do one of us right away, and the other would have to wait. He would not tell us what exactly had happened at check-in that had been so upsetting. Everything seemed completely normal and pleasant to us, and there was zero indication that Lisa was in any way upset while she'd been with us in the treatment room. My friend and I were, of course, concerned about Lisa and wondered what was really going on. Surely booking miscommunications are not unusual, and when they do happen, they can be handled with maturity and professionalism. Nobody in the office would answer any questions about what had happened at check-in that resulted in her inability to do our peels. We could not understand why Dr. Lee would tell us all of this, and in such dramatic fashion, rather than simply say that there was a scheduling mixup and he would be doing the treatments, and it would take longer than expected. He could have simply apologized, and offered a discount or this special facial cream or whatever. End of story. It ended up being a strange and disturbing experience, and we were left feeling that perhaps we weren't told the whole truth. We would not return. Update: I waited three weeks to post this. Nobody from the office has followed up, even though it was clear that the incident was unpleasant for us. We loved the results of the treatment, however, and will be doing another round. But elsewhere!

I had a blepharoplasty to correct asymmetry in my eyelids. Two years later I've done a revision…read moreelsewhere in NY and I've realized that Dr. Lee is not a suitable surgeon for eyelid surgery. Not only did his procedure not work, but it also resulted in a scar that has made it difficult to get a revision. I know that scarring is typical but the appearance is unlike what usually is expected. Normally the scar is a thin line that is done with a clean incision. This scar was raised and bumpy. He did not provide proper after care treatment advice. No antibiotic ointments, no silicon gels. My new doctor did all of that and his incision was immaculate. However, the scar left from my first surgery with JL is still there. I would not get a blepharoplasty here.

Dr. DeRosa was able to answer all my and my daughter's questions thoroughly and kept her at ease the whole time. It is so convenient that they are able to do the surgery right in the office without needing to go to a hospital, especially now with the hospitals so crowded. The whole staff is terrific, there were no wait times for appointments, everything was done efficiently, but we never felt rushed. If you are looking to have your skin feel rejuvenated I have also been to the clinic for a facial and highly recommend the experience.
