In the Olympia Einkaufzentrum (OEZ) there are many shoe stores offering a wide range of prices and qualities. I ended up buying from Tretter though. I was very pleased with the quality they sold. Of course, for such good quality, you definitely pay a bit higher in Munich, but I'm happy to have a lasting shoe even if it means paying a bit more. They have all the shoes grouped according to their size. Which, in practicality, is perfect. Before you fall in love with a shoe, you already know that it's available in your size - prevents unnecessary dissapointment! I also thought the customer service was just great! The ladies weren't hoovering over me, but when I needed the other shoe or had a question about the fit they were more than happy to help, make recommendations and spend the time with me. I will definitely go back to Tretter in OEZ. If a friend is looking for good quality shoes, I would definitely recommend Tretter!

After spending a lot of time in Old Town and visiting the main attractions such as Glockenspiel, St. Peter, and eating pastries and meals in this area - we were drawn to this Rimowa on their famous street - Dienerstrabe. Salman was very attentive in showing us models and we were able to pick up our selection after walking around some more and eating and site-seeing. The luggage was kinda heavy after walking about eight (8) blocks (about 1.5 miles) back to the hotel. A few more thoughts, the gold initialing of the name tag is behind the scenes though (unlike in Madrid - they do it in front of you), so that wasn't as exciting. Salman did not understand Tagalog but spoke English, and that was helpful. There was a Filipina employee there and she was our Plan B if there was a language barrier but thankfully, there wasn't any. :) I've contemplated going aluminum but there are weight restrictions when flying to Asia so I opted for polycarbonate once more. I guess, if you're going with United, carry-on weight doesn't matter. But it does matter on PAL and EVA, so lighter is better, because they'll charge extra. Make sure to submit the tax information at the airport so that you can save on part of your taxes (Global Blue). It can be a pain in the arse but it's still worth jumping through all the hoops.

The staff however are not fantastic here as they wait around and don't offer any assistance unless you ask for it. But then again, how were they to know about the cold front? I did find a nice longer 3/4 length hoodie jacket but alas, they did not have my size And while there was no cold gear that fit my need, I liked their nice bright colors for the season - pinks, bright greens & oranges. Had I had even a modicum of luggage space left open, I'd have made a purchase or 3 Next time!

My wife and I flew from the US to Munich…read moreand upon arrival we discovered that the airline decided to rip the zippers off my luggage so that I would not be able to close it once I unzipped it at the hotel. The next day we took the damaged lugagge to Maria Büscher to see if they could repair it as we were going to be in Munich for a week. Peter explained that it would take around 2 weeks to get it repaired since he had to mail it to another location to get fixed and then have it mailed back to his shop. He then gave us the most economical options for luggage to replace my damaged one. We settled on one and it is great - standard overhead carry-on size and it is durable (my wife and I's travels continued for another 4 weeks and we had no issues or any damage on the new luggage). I also ended up buying a beautiful leather belt as I accidentally left home without one. There is a great selection of products here, leather and otherwise - wallets, belts, hand bags, overhead carry-on and checked baggage sized luggage. My wife and I ended up hitching a ride to the Bayern match that evening with Peter and Manuel too. While we were at the store, I asked the best way to get to the stadium and they simply said you can come with us. I thought they were kidding at first, but no, they were serious. And my wife and I were very thankful. What started out as a need for a luggage repair or replacement, ended up with a friendship. Peter and Manuel are wonderful people, very nice and very accommodating. Oh also, their english is much better than my german, so there was no language barrier between us. If you are local to Munich, I'm sure you are already know about Maria Büscher. If you're a traveler and need any luggage, belt, wallet, etc. assistance while in Munich, don't worry about trying to find any other place other than Maria Büscher.
