My friend and I have gone to this pool several times this summer. The young men and women they have…read morehired to be their lifeguards truly take their job seriously. On one visit we witnessed a lifeguard during her break and on her own take a couple of bottles of water to an elderly gentleman waiting for his great grandchildren. It was very hot that day, it was not her job to do this but she did a try Hunan kindness. Today, we were in the pool and the group of lifeguards gave a little boy who is a regular at the pool a lifeguard t-shirt, and let him carry a lifeguard float around. The little guy just beamed with pride and happiness. Again they didn't have to do this, it wasn't in their job description, but they made a young boy very happy. He probably won't ever forget this day. You have an amazing group of young people working at your pool. You should be very proud!!

When we decided to leave, we spent 10-15 minutes trying to get a bartender's attention to close our tab but were completely ignored, so we left expecting the tab to be closed with the customary gratuity. When I reviewed my credit card statement the following week, I discovered I had been charged $128.81. Management claimed I ordered five piña coladas, five floaters, two beers, and left a $25 tip, which is completely inconsistent with what we actually ordered. I was told they had a signed receipt, but when I requested a copy of the receipt and any video showing me signing it, those requests were refused. When I later spoke with Mr. Elmo, the manager over the Redhead-affiliated businesses, he told me to dispute the charge with my credit card company because he believed I was likely trying to scam the business. During the conversation, he repeatedly referred to his customers as "the type of people we deal with," which came across as dismissive and disrespectful toward his own customers. Mistakes happen, but refusing to provide the documentation you claim exists, accusing a customer of fraud, and treating customers this way is unacceptable. I would encourage anyone who visits to carefully review both their receipt and their credit card statement afterward.

The cave itself is sealed off, so you can't explore that area, but still a neat feature. There is also a family center that looks to have some nice amenities. I would highly recommend the park!

The park is really big with plenty of outdoor activities. Doling Park is a Springfield gem. I would definitely keep Doling Park Family Center in mind for future activities.

There's locker's availble as well. There's a concession stand with limited food and drinks but very reasonable. Zero entry, most of the pool areas are 3'6 deep to 3'. There are baby slide, a medium wide slide and a large slide as well as a basketball hoop, innertubes and a deeper area for the larger kids and adults. There are plenty of lounge chaise and tables with an umbrellas. They take cash or checks, no debit or credit cards. Nice for the locals and those who are visiting the area. My only suggestion is that the teenagers working there, learn how to say "Thank You" when taking money either for entry or at the concession stand.

We actually just moved away, so it does't matter to us...but I am glad they are moving to that system. ______________ Before we moved to Rolla, we already knew about the Centre....we were super-excited because our house is essentially across the street. I had dreams of becoming a regular there, maybe even kicking off my zumba teaching career....hitting the waterslides in the summer, and overall making it my new home-away-from-home (like the Oakland Y was for me back in CA). But....that's not what has happened. Sadly. The classes here are totally meh. At first I thought that the Zumba teacher was ok, but after going on and off for a few months, I am not impressed. The class isn't really intense enough, and the music is stale. I understand and appreciate doing the same songs so people know the moves and whatever, but seriously...the Selfie song? Still??!? Other classes...I think most of them in the 8:30 slot are all taught by the same person (Jay) now. I understand there was some drama with the departure of the old teacher, but not sure what.....Anyhow, Jay is obviously very excited about fitness and has his followers (including my Boo) but he just doesn't do it for me. I don't really understand the point of playing music (especially during weight lifting) if you're not going to do stuff *along* with the music? I've not done spin (I am kind of outraged that it costs extra!!!) or yoga because neither particularly interests me...there really aren't that many classes, especially if you're not a senior citizen. Now that I think about it, it really bothers me that so many of the classes cost extra (Zumba, Spin, maybe yoga, I don't remember). The membership is definitely not cheap, so it just seems kind of messed up to charge extra. The machines and free weights are fine....I wish there were more barbells in the free-weight area. Or if they allowed people to use the aerobics studio between classes, where the majority of the lighter weights are (and there is space and mirrors for aerobics). I am not sure why they are so strict about that, maybe they are worried about weights walking off or someone falling down in there an not have anyone notice? Boo tells me that the swimming area (nautatorium?) is nice and rarely crowded. It seems like the hours for lap swimming are kind of limited, but I guess they're meeting the current demand. I think it's kind of neat they sometimes show movies Friday nights in the pool area for kids.
