(One star is way to high of a rating in my opinion)…read more My Most Traumatic Prenatal Care Experience -- Please Read Before Choosing This Provider I am sharing my experience so expecting mothers--especially Black women, women with high-risk factors, or anyone with a complicated medical history--can make informed decisions about their prenatal care. During this pregnancy, I became extremely sick with nonstop vomiting, dehydration, and physical symptoms I later learned were connected to environmental toxicity. I was prescribed Zofran by Indian River Medical Center (their associated hospital), and at the time I was not informed about any of the ongoing controversies or warnings that later became public about its safety in pregnancy. I only discovered this after the fact. As a patient, I feel I should have been clearly informed about potential risks so I could make my own fully educated decision, especially since my symptoms were so severe. Instead of looking deeper into why I suddenly became so ill compared to my previous pregnancy, my concerns and physical distress were often misinterpreted as "rudeness" or "non-compliance." These were not behavior issues -- they were symptoms of an untreated medical condition, and unfortunately, I felt judged instead of helped. When I tried to talk about my previous traumatic birth experience--where my baby's head became indented because the delivering doctor left me while she was crowning--I was met with defensiveness instead of compassion. Being told that I was "interpreting my trauma incorrectly" was incredibly painful. I lived that experience. I know what happened. I was also told at one point that CPS could potentially be involved because of marijuana use, even though I explained that I was using anything I could to cope with constant vomiting while also being prescribed Zofran at the same time. Threatening CPS felt harsh and unnecessary, especially in the context of a documented high-risk pregnancy where I was already struggling to keep food down. Another part of my care that made me uncomfortable was the repeated pressure to disclose the identity of my child's father. It felt intrusive and unrelated to my medical needs, and it added stress during an already overwhelming time. Overall, I left feeling unheard, invalidated, and misunderstood. My physical symptoms were not taken seriously, my trauma wasn't acknowledged, and I did not feel safe continuing care here. I ultimately transferred to another provider for my own well-being. I hope this review encourages better communication, more compassion, and culturally sensitive care for future patients. Every mother deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and transparency.

I went to the appointment, got there 45 min early as requested to fill out all new client paperwork. When giving my insurance card (Florida Blue PPO) they said that they stopped taking on more clients with my insurance plan, as of January. I explained they made my appointment in January and took my insurance info at that time as I was a new client. They just said sorry. They could have taken me on as they still deal with that plan just dont want more client with it and it was their mistake. I now have to wait till June to see a gyn I was referred to today. Very poorly handled.

Went to a family reunion that weekend and was so very sad. Then on Monday she called me and said she wanted me to have the test again because she thought my tubes may have had a spasm during the test. It was an expensive test and she offered to have it performed for no cost. And when the test was done one tube was cleared. Soon, I was pregnant and by the Grace of God and Audrey Richard's commitment and keen knowledge of her trade, I am the proud mother of two beautiful, smart, witty, charming twin girls! There is no better ob/gyn in Vero Beach or the world if you ask me! Kay Clem
