It just a house in a neighborhood! Great baked goods. Even my picky daughter liked it

This is the best bread I've had in my life. While visiting, my husband and I found this place and decided to try it out. The bread was nice and hot, and was delicious. We got three cinnamon rolls and two loafs of bread, and it was only around $30. Really well priced, and the sourdough cinnamon rolls were beyond amazing. Too bad they're only open a few days a week, but this was worth it for sure. read more

I totally lucked out ! I managed to find Leavened opens on Wednesdays and Fridays.... And I was there on a Friday. I know she sells out fast, but I took a chance last Friday and pulled into the driveway. It was a Bingo! I scored a sourdough loaf! The bakery is in a private home with a kitchen window where you buy your goodies. And the house is a cheerful yellow that lifts your spirits almost as much as the bakery products. read more

I love that we have a little bakery right in Gold Beach, even if it is only open two days a week and usually sells out before their 3 pm closing time on those days. The quality of everything on the menu is top flight and the variety of breads and other offerings keeps the selections as freah as the bread. I'm really torn between four and three stars, so read on I've had three different types of sourdough loaves, including the standard sourdough French and the sesame sourdough, which are my favorites. The bread is soft and well flavored, with 'special' ingredients coming through without being intrusive. I'm also a huge fan of their cheese biscuits (when they have them for special occasions) I've tried a number of their pastries but find them a bit dry, even when we sit down to have them with lunch right after brining them home. I know flaky pastries tend to be dry, but these are a bit beyond the norm, in my experience, unless warmed a bit in the microwave . That's a little disappointing, especially since they're about $5 each, which is why I took off one star That leads me to why I almost took off a second star. Things aren't cheap at Leavened Bakery. When combined with the generally excellent sourdough you can find in local markets for significantly less, Leavened Bakery has become more of a special occasion bread, rather than an every week 'must have', for me. But if the limited hours and prices are not deterrents, and you stick with bread and biscuits, then Leavened Bakery is definitely worth your time to stop read more

I love when i get to find exceptional businesses in small towns and Leavened is just that, exceptional. Don't let it's location or the fact it is part of house fool you, this place can bake and the pastries give you day dreams of France. We did an assortment of pastries, bread and coffee to go and everyone was extremely please while wanting more. When i bit into my Marionberry Danish I had an audible "mmm" which never really happens. The pastry was fluffy, crunchy, buttery with the right amount of sweetness and the Marionberry, i have no words that would do it justice. I was never a lover of bread until I found Leavened Bakery, which was recommended by a friend. This bread is absolutely full of flavor and delicious, but there is something more to it that can't be described. You can taste that it's made with love and care and that's the truth. I moved to Brookings just before the Covid outbreak. I have been searching for REAL french bread since & stumbled upon this wonderful little shop. The bread is SO fresh, stayed warm my whole drive home. I also tried 3 different pastries & ALL were to die for & still warm. I nearly went back to get more almond pastries before leaving, but didn't want to be a pig! I will be back sooner than later. These ladies got it down & so happy I found this gem. Cute little place with great pastry and bread! Had a wonderful little pastry with a fancy name (which I now forget) - small, sweet pastry with chocolate. It was delicious! The french press coffee was strong and tasty. We also bought bread for a picnic lunch later today. Service was really friendly and helpful. So glad to find such a little gem on our road trip north, instead of heading for a coffee chain!! BTW the bread was amazing with our picnic! read more

My wife and I stayed in Gold Beach for 2 weeks recently where we unfortunately found this place. Unfortunate for two reasons. First, I think I gained a few pounds from all the pastries and bread I ravenously consumed, and second, now we are back home and I am missing my morning Tayberry danish and coffee!! Yesterday we purchased 2 baguettes for $6 each and then carefully stored them overnight in their bags. We are fixing a special cioppino for a dinner party tonight and we wanted a special bread to go with it. As I tried to cut the bread today with a serrated bread knife, it was almost impossible to cut through. Guess our very special dinner won't be so wonderful after all! This bakery is housed in the former garage of the owner with a walk up window and some chairs and tables outside on the lawn. The bread and treats are the best around. They have a super friendly owner and great staff. The bread rounds are as good as any I have purchased in the small bakeries in France. Highly recommended! read more

Nice little stop just off 101. Stopped by on our way camping and bought the polenta rosemary sourdough and French sourdough loaves (some of the few choices left late in the day). Bread had a nice tangy flavor with airy crumb. Leftovers heated up nicely over the campfire and delicious with a bit of butter and cheese. Also had the kouign amann which was okay. read more
