I was a little nervous to be sending my old VCR tapes of my wedding and videos of my children all the way to Colorado, but I'm certainly glad that I did. We now have the VCR tapes on digital and can edit and watch them whenever we want. I am so happy with the care that Leave a Legacy took with my treasured past. RUN AWAY! This entire interaction was heartbreaking. I went out of my way to get my VHS tape to Leave a Legacy, knowing my father was running out of time - on his deathbed. Marsha said she would turn around the digitization quickly - within a few days. It actually took her a week and she provided me a link, right before Christmas, to someone else's video. I called and emailed several times, but she took 12 days off over the holidays and DID NOT CHECK HER EMAIL OR PHONE MESSAGES ONCE. Trust me, I begged repeatedly for her assistance. I cannot tell you how many tears my family shed over this. (Look, I have a small business too, but I check my email daily just to make sure there are no fires that need attention. Welcome to the real world.) Today she's back in the office and uploads the video, no apology. It's sadly too late for my father to see the footage. Also... she charged me for 6 hours of footage at $15/2 hours. The footage is less than 2 hours and SHE IS REFUSING TO REFUND THE $30 OVERCHARGE. Taking this up with my credit card to issue a full refund. So that other person's video I watched in its entirety? What a breach of trust! read more

I was pretty nervous about taking the old 8 mm reels I had inherited recently when both of my beloved parents passed away. What if they got messed up or something during the process? I took the leap of faith and had the old movies converted. What a relief- they did a very good job with our family's treasures! And it only took one week. It's not a cheap process if you have a lot of film but the pricing is fair. I will use this business again and recommend them, definitely. read more

I had the best experience at Leave a Legacy! My husband and I are preparing to move into our RV full time and do not have room to store the many Creative Memories albums. I brought 3 loads of albums, loose photos and old camcorder videos in to be transferred to memory "brick" (my word). The staff was amazingly helpful and kind which is just what I needed as this part of my down size was very difficult. Marsha has been very helpful with ensuring photos were scanned timely in order to meet our personal needs with an impending family passing. Each album page scanned was done so well! The videos they downloaded were better then iMemories! They even scanned the front and back of a framed picture! This is a very costly process but the work they put in to each scan and the ability to plug in my "brick" and pull up any video or photo is priceless! My order was straight forward - transfer 9 Video8 tapes to MP4. The process to mail the tapes was straight forward. The person I spoke to on the phone was cordial, polite, and knowledgeable; told me what size of thumb drive to send along with the tapes. The price was very reasonable. All done within 1 week. My wife and I immediately got to enjoy her equestrian videos from over 30 years ago. We have used Walgreens and CVS service in the past, and was always disappointed with the quality of the product. LeaveALegacy gave us the same quality as if we were looking at the tapes directly. The past is priceless to us. Having these memories in MP4 format is priceless. read more

I took in an i-tablet to have photos on it stored on a flash drive i brought in. I worked with employee Ashton and told her they were apparently in a dropbox file which I didn't know how to get them out, having long ago forgotten my signin information. She said this was no problem. I showed her under which app they were stored in. I showed her how they were stored. She indicated at no time that this was a problem. She said they'd be ready in a week and it was would be $20 for the complete transfer. She called when they were ready, and sort of as an aside , she said two of the 6 file folders of pictures could not be accessed. She said "you'll be able to tell which ones. ". I asked her for the names of those files. I had a friend pick my i-tablet and the flash drive up and pay the $20. I spent Over an hour trying to figure out what had been done and where discovered that less than half of the file folders of pictures had been downloaded. And the 2 she mentioned on the phone held over 200 photos! I discovered that the few folders downloaded had pictures in them from some of the other dated file folders. I had to wait until monday since they are closed on sunday to bring this to her attention and inquiring if I was viewing the flash drive correctly. After evading my concerns, she finally indicated that several file folders could not be downloaded. I asked why she didn't tell me on the phone when she said I could pick them up. She made excuses for some pictures being in the wrong folder on the flash drive. I told her there was no way I could tell what all she had downoaded and which pictures weren't downloaded. She offered no apology, continued to make excuses. Informed me she didn't do the work, that some one else did. She didn't offer any of the payment back or offer to correct anything. As I was leaving, I could hear her slamming the binder down that she was looking at to see what had been reported by the guy who apparently did the work. I will never use these people again. Ashton was rude and many ways, and not helpful , and then lied about what was and wasn't done. read more

0 Stars. I brought in a few mini dv's to be transferred to DVD. I spoke with Marsha about the tapes and let her know that some of them were skipping and cutting out sound. (I had already had them done by an online company, and was hoping that this local place could clean up the tapes.) I told her if the footage looks damaged and cannot be restored, DON'T transfer it to a DVD. I already have a copy, do not make another if you can't fix the problem. She agreed, and even had the guy working for her make a note of it. She was normal when speaking to me, but super condescending to her employee. Rudely correcting him and then eventually taking over my order altogether. Fast forward to a week later. I go in to pick up my order and I ask to view the dvd's before taking them home. The guy was there and he set them up on a TV and skimmed through them to show me that they'd been able to fix some of the skipping on the dvd's. Marsha was with another customer at the time, but as soon as she was finished she sat down nearby where we were viewing the final DVD. Not acknowledging me, but creepily observing her employee. The last DVD was BAD. Skipping every couple seconds, you couldn't hear most of the tape. It was then that I told the guy, "Hey, I'd like to pay for the other DVDs, but this last one is so messed up and if it's alright, I don't want to pay for it." Simultaneously, he said he understood and Marsha let out a "PSSSSHHHT", sound like a 13-year-old girl when you ask her to clean her room. I then turned toward her and looked her in the eye and asked her, "I'm sorry, do you not remember me? I spoke with you and I told you I didn't want you to remake the DVDs if they were going to be bad quality and you told me you wouldn't?" She then got ridiculously snarky and said to me, "If that's what you want to do go ahead." I cannot believe this woman runs a business. She is the worst human being I have ever crossed paths with, seriously. She then told me, "Well, if that's your prerogative then I guess you're going to do what you want to do." And she made another weird sound with her mouth. At that moment I realized speaking to this classless woman with sister wife hair was getting me nowhere. I have never in my life been treated like this, by anyone, especially a business owner. NEVER GO HERE. Seriously. There is another review in the not recommended review area that is right on about this lady. In the end, the guy working there apologized for the whole thing. But that doesn't excuse her outrageous behavior. She definitely is leaving a legacy of being a jerk in her dusty little Shop. read more

This place is a great family run business to have your fine art, or anything else, scanned professionally. I brought in a very delicate lace-like papercutting that I was kinda scared to leave with anyone for fear it would tear but Marsha was so thoughtful and promised she would treat it with care. The price is right, fast turn around and the utmost care and respect for my art. My piece was 12"x12" and I forgot to ask how large their flat bed scanner is, but I'll be bringing what I can of my past works and all of my future pieces that they can handle to have a pro digital copy for my portfolio. read more

If you need a photo restored, Leave A Legacy is the place to do it. I have a photo of my Dad from the early 1960's that was worn, torn, and faded. I found it after my Mother passed away. It is absolutely beautiful and perfect!!! Marsha took a genuine interest in the content of the picture. She is in Ft. Collins but you can drop a photo off at Frame De Art on south Broadway, which is an amazing framing store, and it will be picked up and delivered when finished. read more

I bought a coupon from Seize the Deal for $108 to transfer my old home movies to a DVD. I thought it was a good deal but when I was done editing it and was ready to take it home they wanted another $150 for "storing" it for 6 months. $250 for a 20 minute DVD! No thank you! When I told them they could keep the coupon and the DVD the owner called me and argued that I owed them the money. I stated that I was was out $54 with nothing to show for it, but she continued to argue with me. I've never had a business owner talk to me like that in my life! (I am a mature woman in my mid 50's) I will never do business with them again! Be sure you understand all of the hidden fees up front, but I would not recommend this business, even to my worst enemy! read more

I would give 10/5 stars if I could. My grandparents would've celebrated 66 years of marriage this year, but my grandma passed away suddenly back in June. For their anniversary, I had a few photos from their wedding day digitally enhanced and colored to give to my grandpa (and my dad) to keep my grandma's memory alive. When my grandpa opened them up, he got tears in his eyes and said, "This is the best gift anyone has ever given me." They were together for over 70 years and when you talk to him now, he just seems a little unsure and lost when he holds conversation. But pictures like this speak a thousand words and I was so overcome with joy when he brightened up like a Christmas tree, reliving his wedding day as if it was yesterday. Shoutout to Leave A Legacy in Fort Collins for taking such good care of the photos and bringing them to life. It was worth every penny to bring a smile and tears to my grandpa's face and I 100% recommend their services. read more
