Purchased 2 guns a brand new dark earth Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun. At same time purchased what the owner told me was a brand new ready to shoot with lots of upgrades AR-15 Gnar-15 neon green.
Took AR out to shoot on the third shot the sight fell off looked closer and gun was separating in middle. Took home put sight back on and re-attached. Went shooting again a week later as I cannot shoot close to my home I live on city county line and don't have enough property. So second time shot 2 rounds and gun started separating again.
I contacted a gun smith that told me how tight to tighten the screws and went to shoot 3rd time got 4-5 rounds out this time and thought I had it working so I shot 10 more rounds looked at gun and it was separated and broken tabs in center.
Took the gun back to leather limited firearms the owner immediately told me there was only 1 thing he could and that was see if manufacturer would repair. I told him that I had other options as I purchased the gun on a Discover card and could turn into discover since I had only had the gun for 2 weeks and it should last much longer. He thanked me for not turning it into discover and said he would contact and send the gun back to Gnar and if they wouldn't fix he would send to gun smith and fix but then if it came apart again it was on me as the gun was USED. However when I purchased the gun he said it was New and never been fired. I asked him how long this would take he said I don't know. I told him that was acceptable if he got it fixed and what if it fell apart the first time I take it shooting he said it would be on me I said that wasn't fair the 1,000 gun should last longer than 90 Days he called me a crook said I really just try to rip people off. For all he knows I've put thousands of rounds through it. I told him it should at least last 90 Days and I have never put 1,000 rounds through any gun. He said I was just trying to rip him off because I want the $1,000.00 rifle to last 90 Days. He then said if I involve Discover he would dispute the claim get the ATF involved and wrap discover up with the ATF I was just a crook and thief. I grabbed my rifle left his store/garage he followed me out as the cameras are on the outside and said I just don't want it fixed but he couldn't tell me how long he would have it and I only have 90 Days for recou. I told him I would contact Gnar myself he said I couldn't because I'm not a dealer like he's the only dealer in Bloomington.
I told him I wasn't leaving $1,000 gun with him for only god knows how long and he said he wouldn't go without his $1,000 either.
I contacted Discover and we'll see how it goes as they said they've never heard of ATF getting involved in an investigation for store policy or buyer protection.
My main point careful what you buy from him and use Visa or Discover to protect yourself as he has no posted policy and apparently sells used guns as new guns. read more
