They did come up with a temporary way to stop the faucet from leaking. It may require a fix in the future but this gives me time to save up for a whole new faucet. Very disappointing experience…read more I hired Helping Hands Home Repair for a $500 job to replace attic trim and a bathroom fan, including materials. I paid a $250 deposit upfront. Before the appointment, I sent pictures and information about the existing fan and specifically asked them to make sure they had the correct replacement. Despite this, when they arrived they still did not have the fan and began inspecting/measuring it again. I asked them to start on the trim instead, but we continued going back and forth about the fan. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable proceeding with the job. I told them I wanted to cancel and requested my deposit back. No repair or installation work was performed. What bothered me most was what happened afterward. They told me they would deduct a "consultation fee" from my refund. There was no consultation fee disclosed to me when I accepted the quote or paid the deposit. The agreement I received stated $500 total, with $250 down and $250 upon completion. I also had an unpleasant phone conversation when trying to resolve the refund. In my experience, something that should have been a straightforward cancellation and refund became an unnecessary dispute. I would not use this business again. Ps: I can see that she's playing the race card, but she probably does not know that her yelp has her profile picture which I saw a few days ago and still hired her, but she probably won't see that fact
