Stayed here for a week during a family retreat in October. The leaves were turning and a cold snap…read morebrought out a noticeable change that was seen both at the main camp and at the Billy Graham Overlook. The food was the most surprising part about the stay. It was well prepared, served buffet style and basically all you can eat. We had a date night where they set individual tables and served a five course meal. Salad, salmon, asparagus, linguine and berry tart. They served each course to our table, meanwhile camp staff were watching our rug rats. (They will not watch rug rats under 2 years old) The high ropes course was a good family bonding experience. The course is set up to be as challenging as you want. The grand finale is a double zip line. It was open for us from 2 PM to 4:15 along with climbing wall and you could go as many times as you wanted. The marina on Lake Broyhill had a fire ring, canoes, kayaks, sailing boats and a pontoon boat. The lake is textured enough to provide a long afternoon of paddling and support sunfish / bass. Bring your fishing pole to access lake from shore or on a boat. Lack of fishing pressure should ensure a good time. There are a couple of creeks thg that the kids can explore with frogs and interesting rocks. They are small enough to be safe, but big enough to support creatures. The camp is 2k+ acres and adjoins a wildlife preserve. This provides seclusion and provides wildlife viewing opportunities. The cabins were great...for kids. The mattresses were uncomfortable for adults, but no complaints from the kids. That may have been due to the multiple activities they experienced during the day encouraged on by an enthusiastic camp staff. Besides the bread and butter summer camps, they do retreats for different groups that can be tailored to their needs. Scout campouts, corporate retreats, special needs retreats, family reunions and weekend campouts are all on the menu. Cellphone service is marginal, but they have wifi throughout the cabin and dining hall.

Whenever you put together mass amounts of women in a defined space, this have the potential of getting a wee bit crazy. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the camp ground, the bonfires and generally laying low for a few days with a handful of my favorite girlfriends. Some of my fave activities... -Morning yoga -Zip line, Jacob's Ladder & climbing wall -Hiking the trail to the gorgeous overlook (yes, it's worth it) -Friendly dude ranch with precious horses -Zumba (praying there are no cameras filming my athletically induced dance moves) The camp is only 1.5 hours from Charlotte and it's a great getaway for ladies, families and kids. You'll find tranquil campgrounds complete with teepees, plenty of activities, pool, lakes, nicely appointed cabins with private bathrooms & shower stalls and a stunning view. The staff are incredibly sweetl and the food is spot on. If you're considering a weekend trip to the mountains, a corporate retreat or a camp for your kiddos, definitely check out Camp Harrison!

The Club at Green Valley is an amazing gym with lots of awesome amenities--free locker service,…read morefree towel service, child care, etc. Also, The Club has first-rate equipment, and it's definitely one of the classiest looking gyms I've ever visited. As for programs and equipment, The Club at Green Valley has Les Mills fitness classes (BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyStep, CXWorx, and BodyVive), they have a great lap pool (it's not Olympic sized, but it's good for getting your laps in), a nice cardio room with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, etc., and a weight room. They also feature a unique program for young athletes called Parisi Speed School, which is a program designed to help athletes improve athletic performance, maximize their natural abilities, develop a higher level of self-confidence, and learn to prevent injury. If you live in the Greensboro area, check out The Club at Green Valley or their other club, The Club at Oak Branch. Both locations are great.! Also, if you're just in town visiting, you should check them out because they have guest rates for visitors!

The wide range of equipment is sure to meet your needs. Recently, the treadmills and some of the ellipticals were upgraded. Other new additions include a Jacob's Ladder, a new stair mill, and a Curve treadmill. Other amenities available are child care (for a reasonable cost), a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and complimentary towels. There are two weight rooms, two circuit sets, and two cardio areas. Additionally, there is a yoga and ab area for those who want to stretch out or do their own workouts. They also offer an array of programming, including a full offering of Les Mills classes, spin, water aerobics, and small group functional training. There is no comparable gym in Greensboro, especially since The Club has two locations. I have been a member for over 3 years and would never consider changing gyms. Check it out, and ask what specials they have when you visit!
