We have been very pleased with her progress and how it has helped her in middle school. She often tells me how she is one of the few in math class that understands what the teacher is going over, usually because she has done similar work at Huntington and has been taught the concept. Understanding the work has really boosted her confidence in her ability to do her work. She is now starting to work on putting together writing assignments correctly. After seeing my teenage son struggle with writing, I know this will be helpful for her not only now, but especially in high school and college. What I appreciate mostly about Mathnasium is that the students are able to learn at their own pace and they do not move on until a certain level of proficiency has been established. This is so different from the school system in which the same expectations are set for everyone for the whole school year. Mathnasium helps alleviate the anxiety that a lot of students get when learning and they are able to take that newfound confidence back to the classroom. I only wish that Mathnasium was available when my child was younger. So those starting Mathnasium in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade, you are lucky to be beginning at a great time. However, it is definitely not too late to start at any age!

I have been taking weekly Spanish language classes with Abigayl from Lake Norman Language Academy…read moresince January 2022. The classes are small and conveniently offered via Zoom. Abigayl is very engaging and the classes are well tailored to each level (I've been through a few!). Abigayl is very tuned in to everyone's language level and learning speed, and she makes language practice fun and practical (for example, she'll have you "shop" for groceries at the Peruvian "Walmart" :) ). She engages everyone in the class and makes them feel comfortable. She offers a range of learning resources both in class and for individual learning outside of class.
