I'm reviewing the campus…read moreas a tourist destination rather than as a place to send your kid to college but if your child can get in as a professor I think you can't do better than a good liberal arts college. Even the best of the great research universities (except the University of Chicago) have distracting party scenes that just aren't as big a temptation at places like this. Anyway, also like other liberal arts colleges, this one is picturesque with a healthy schedule of cultural events. Strong programs in music and arts, humanities result in lots of very good very affordable (often free) concerts and exhibits. The campus is lovely, though being a professor I prefer it during semester breaks when it's not covered in college students. Great college library. Appleton is an economically depressed de-industrialized town with an island of high culture that is this college (yes technically a university, but it's more of a liberal arts college). A unique boutique hotel in an historic restored building and a couple of good restaurants all in walking distance makes this a fun affordable two day destination.

I have enjoyed taking many classes at FVTC as a non-traditional student. My latest experience has…read moreleft me a little unsettled. Buyer Beware! I just enrolled in a non-credited class on-line. In order to make a credit card payment I was directed to "PayPass" which I assumed was the same as "PayPal". Much to my surprise I was charged a $3 service fee. I called FVTC to ask for a refund of the fee and I would pay by check or another way using my credit card. The customer service person said it was too late. This is a fee that goes directly to the PayPass company as a way to pay for the credit card processing services. FVTC does not incur any credit card processing charges. Am I wrong...is this actually an added cost to take a class. Instead why not be honest and add the cost to the registration fee. Full disclosure of the actual fee's charged to take a class at FVTC. I feel bad for the students who have limited funds and you are charging them additionally to pay by credit card. Instead include the cost of paying by credit card as a higher registration fee and charge less for those paying by cash or check. This lets the students decide which is the most affordable way to pay. Pam

I love that the school and teachers expect hard work and effort and cheer them on to be the best they can be. We are enrolled for next year for all three.

I believe that FPA gives students an education that truly prepares them for the real world. In addition, the administration is always considering what's best for the students and striving to make FPA the best it can be for the families that enroll there. And, because of the work of the dedicated teachers, when students leave FPA, they are ready for college, jobs, or anything else they choose to do. FPA is truly a fantastic program. The food, as well as the school, are sometimes mid and sometimes the best…read more Arriving here in early august of last year I was hesitant, traumatized by the rather repelling choices of food in middle school. But here I am. Alive and well in April of 2023. Some of the food here at west is the most repelling you've ever had, mystery meats on what seems like off-brand fake rice. Milk that doesn't seem trustable. But there's another side to the food, the best you've ever had. (There's no in between). I'll start with the nachos. They are the thing that has so many varieties that nobody expects. Some of these being taco salad, just simply add taco sauce to it and mix it all up. Or just eat them traditionally. It goes crazy on a Monday either way. But don't ruin it and eat it every day of the week. Then it tastes bland and gets old fast. Secondly, the daily "special" area. The food here is where you have to be careful. Inconsistent and most of the time, rather mid, the food here is a force to be reckoned with. Most of the questionable food is served here, make sure to avoid anything on rice or what looks like rice, usually the "rice" sucks the moisture out of it and it is dry. But make sure to visit when they serve stuff such as the Buffalo chicken, burger bar and fries , or also the mac and cheese . Third, the chicken sandwiches and the "pizzas". The chicken sandwiches are a very reliable and solid food choice if you want, especially the spicy ones. Same with the burgers. But When the Nashville hot chicken sandwiches are out, go straight for them, they are better than chick fil'a and are fire . But avoid pizza imo. Some people swear by the school pizza, but I think it sucks personally. It is fr mid and not that good. Lastly, the sub bar and ice cream (). The sub bar is straight heat and never misses, with the realest food of all and straight fire choices, you can't go wrong with it. The school also sells ice cream for $1.50.
