When we…read moremoved to Batavia I was barely pregnant with my second and was overwhelmed by the number of centers! I sent my oldest to a couple other centers and within 2 weeks I NEVER saw the same teacher! We were OUT! The moment I walked into KinderCare I was so WELCOME, at EASE, and AMAZED at the excitement the kids had! The director even asked my son if he wanted to go visit the age group he would be in (4's at the time) and he hung out in there while we talked! The kids are happy, the place is so clean, and I am ALWAYS greeted by multiple staff members (and I know ALL OF THEM!) I honestly wouldn't trust my kids with anyone else! I have never had a problem go unaddressed! I've had two kids go through the baby room and I've NEVER experienced a problem with the teachers or director, accidents do happen, but my kids get hurt at home too, no bubble wrapping my kids, they've got to learn!

We were referred to this place from a friend who also had kids there, and assumed Our first time with a daycare will go smoothly. I DO NOT recommend taking Your child here. The first day (and only day) we dropped off our 13 month old there, we were told that he did not sleep, and had a fever...AFTER his mother had picked him up. We noticed that he had a bruise on his head as well, and only after pressing them for more information they told us that he was banging his head on the crib. Few things to point out- In their own policies, if the child gets hurt in anyway they will contact the parents. My gf was told when she picked him up. The pictures they send throughout the day shows that he got the bruise HOURS before she showed up. Next is the fact that he developed a fever and they STILL did not notify us until he was picked up. And finally, after probing them for the policy violations they committed they admitted that it was a mistake on their part and they should have notified us IMMEDIATELY. I cannot convey my anger enough in this review because after we took him home so he could finally sleep and tend to his fever, he had a fibril seizure and was transported to the hospital. He was at Kindercare for 6 hours...and everything I was worried about having random people taking care of my child was validated. So to sum it all up, on the FIRST DAY our child: -could not be put to sleep -was neglected long enough for him to bang his head against a crib to develop a bruise on his head -developed a fever which the parents were not told until he was picked up. Like I said they admitted they did not follow their own policy so we received a full refund for the week, because we were NEVER coming back. On a side note he is doing better at a different daycare, obviously better taken care of than at this place. So if you're looking for a place for your infant, like another reviewer said on here DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE.

The director and staff at COA in Oswego are so unprofessional on many levels. I am going to start by saying my son (who happens to have mild Autism) was hired as a Teaching Assistant. This was told to them on his resume, as well as discussed at the interview. He was hired at COA about 6 months ago. Since being hired, he has been picked on, made to do work that other TA's are not made to do ( ex. clean all floors and toys in all classrooms). Written up for incidents that were embellished by other staff as a means to get him in trouble. Treated with disrespect and now after today called a racist because of a mis-pronunciation of a last name. His own family is comprised of 4 different races. He doesn't have a mean or racist bone in his body. My son, even through all of this, has continued to show up and work every day. He has taken the 10:30 am lunch even when he got to work at 9 am and others have been working since 6 am. He never complained about this unfair treatment due to feeling like he could lose his job all the time. It was evident in his anxiety that he felt left out and not supported at all. He recently had his hours cut, supposedly due to lack of enrollment. Although the center hired 4 new staff since he was hired and he was the staff with hours cut to 15 hours a week. They have treated him like he wouldn't know better and continuously pick on him. They expected him to be alone in a classroom, and because he spoke up and said he wasn't comfortable with this, his hours were cut. What a sad and unfortunate work experience for a young man who just felt he would like to work with young children. As he comes from a family who fostered other children throughout his life. He has had experience working and caring for kids quite a bit, just not in the daycare setting. As his Mom, I really felt this would be a great opportunity for him. How sad of COA to treat someone who is "different " with such disrespect that he no longer wants to work in an environment like that. I doubt you would want your children attending a place that treats their employees this way either. I know I wouldn't. If I thought my son could have written this himself, I would have him do so. His disabilities don't define him. His heart does. We will move on from here, but not without speaking our TRUTH.

The Directors are supportive, approachable, and truly care about both the staff and the children we serve. They create an environment that values creativity and learning, and it's clear they're passionate about what they do. Administration makes sure that we have everything that we need for our classrooms, lesson plans, and art projects. I have worked at several corporate and private schools where that was not the case, so am very grateful that everything is provided for the teachers. The nature program here is a real highlight. The school offers enriching experiences like gardening, bird watching, and even raising and releasing butterflies, which really engages the kids with the natural world around them. It's rewarding to watch them get excited about these activities and grow curious about the environment. The nature staff are well-trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of nature education. I can't say enough good things about Kensington. Both of our boys went to Kensington from an early age. In fact, our oldest son went to Kensington in La Grange for a few years. Overall he had a great experience in La Grange, but this location was hands down better. Better administrator, teachers, and facility. Both boys flourished while at Kensington. But here is the proof positive that they do well for your kids. Our older son is now eight and in the 3rd grade. He's doing really well - LOVES to read, placed in advanced math, and overall, just enjoys school and learning. I believe Kensington teachers had a lot to do with that outcome. I do have to agree with other Yelpers that the corporate management is not great having had a few run-ins with them over billing. It's also costly. As much as it stinks to pay lots of money for child care, it's worth it. It was money well spent and I'd do it over again in a New York minute.

We were quoted one tuition rate, but shortly after enrollment, it increased without warning. When I questioned it, I was told, "It's only a $50 difference, and if you can't afford it, we can unenroll them." That response was hurtful and unprofessional. Tuition is over $1,600/month for toddlers and increased again starting July, yet the meals provided are minimal, often just half a Nutri-Grain bar and faucet water. Parents also have to pay out of pocket for anything extra, making it hard to see where the high tuition is going. Despite the high cost, my son struggled during his kindergarten readiness test, unable to count to 20 or say his ABCs, basic skills I expected him to learn. I've since withdrawn him from the center. I cannot recommend this location. The care and education do not match the price parents are paying.
