We were referred to this place from a friend who also had kids there, and assumed Our first time with a daycare will go smoothly. I DO NOT recommend taking Your child here. The first day (and only day) we dropped off our 13 month old there, we were told that he did not sleep, and had a fever...AFTER his mother had picked him up. We noticed that he had a bruise on his head as well, and only after pressing them for more information they told us that he was banging his head on the crib. Few things to point out- In their own policies, if the child gets hurt in anyway they will contact the parents. My gf was told when she picked him up. The pictures they send throughout the day shows that he got the bruise HOURS before she showed up. Next is the fact that he developed a fever and they STILL did not notify us until he was picked up. And finally, after probing them for the policy violations they committed they admitted that it was a mistake on their part and they should have notified us IMMEDIATELY. I cannot convey my anger enough in this review because after we took him home so he could finally sleep and tend to his fever, he had a fibril seizure and was transported to the hospital. He was at Kindercare for 6 hours...and everything I was worried about having random people taking care of my child was validated. So to sum it all up, on the FIRST DAY our child: -could not be put to sleep -was neglected long enough for him to bang his head against a crib to develop a bruise on his head -developed a fever which the parents were not told until he was picked up. Like I said they admitted they did not follow their own policy so we received a full refund for the week, because we were NEVER coming back. On a side note he is doing better at a different daycare, obviously better taken care of than at this place. So if you're looking for a place for your infant, like another reviewer said on here DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE.

The genuine care they showed to our kids (and our whole family, honestly) for the past four years has been extraordinary. My kids were happy to walk through those doors every single day. We were always greeted by smiling staff members. The kids learned so much from the curriculum they used. The teachers made everything so fun! (Ms. Pam, our kids were talking about your St Patrick's shenanigans JUST today- you created memories they'll never forget). We took advantage of the phonics enrichment they offered (Ms. Alison, we love you!) All kids also received some Spanish curriculum, too! We received pictures, notes, and updates daily through their app. The directors, Ms. Rachna and Ms. Alyssa, are simply wonderful. They work so hard to make the center a true community, and we enjoyed all the daycare parties they hosted outside of normal hours to allow families to connect and socialize. Our kids were safe, well-fed (thank you, Ms. Jackie!), loved, and engaged every day. Leaving this place for elementary school was genuinely so difficult because of the relationships we built here. If you're looking for a "home" for your littles, do not overlook this exceptional place.

I had no reason to believe that there would be a problem so we tried it out. It only took a few weeks to realize this was not the right environment for my child. Our son was often in "trouble" with other kids which struck us as a bit odd. ***update*** we are in a new center with zero issues with staff or other kids. There appears to be some discord between workers, the owner Kate if present, is certainly not at drop off/pick up. Concerns or VM left for the owner will not result in her calling you, but rather one of the staff. Not sure who, if anyone is really in charge or if it's a power struggle between some of them. I turned in a "termination of care" letter and still have not heard a word, let alone a refund on our deposit. Zero concern about the issue that prompted this immediate withdrawal of care. The facility itself is pretty run down - with no indication the owner is attempting any upgrades. The bathrooms for the kids are worse than any gas station/restaurant in the area. We have no clue what the kids are fed. The facility appears to cater to those on state financial assistance which makes sense given the conditions. The outside play area, while sufficient, is sorely lacking. If you are on a strict budget and not concerned whether or not your child's needs will be met (especially toddlers 2.5-5 years old) or must rely on state funding - this facility may be fine for you. The extra $50-$70 a week is money well-spent elsewhere. The staff we believe is good, but may be limited in part by restrictions dictated by the owner under the guise of DCFS rules (which I proved by printing out section 407-340 in the handbook). Go read it and draw your own conclusion as to why we abruptly moved him out). At best, this facility barely passes the lowest possible standards required by Illinois and is probably not checked frequently. There is potential for this to be a decent facility due to location, but it would require an overhaul. If you are considering this facility - spell out your EXACT expectations of them as a provider, in writing, have them sign off and don't rely on their general printed information. You will pay for school holidays (they close when Batavia schools do) which is terribly inconvenient for parents with little ones/school age kids under 12 who need care during the work day, and you will pay for the week they are closed in August for their vacation (rather than most NORMAL businesses that staff takes PTO at different times). Very weird and random. My gut told me to pull my child out - and believe me, the piece of mind is well worth it.

We live near a facility and assumed that our little guy would go there - but when we did our visit, it was just ok. Now what? A good friend sends her children to The Gardner School of Oak Brook and recommended the Naperville location to me. When we checked the school out, I cried over how much I loved it (and I'm not a crier - I'm super pale and get very blotchy; it's not cute). We signed him up immediately and have been happy with that decision ever since. First, the location is easily accessible from a variety of locations - we are in downtown Naperville, but have friends who are in Aurora, Sugar Grove, Wheaton, etc. The facility is secure and requires two passcodes before entering the main area. It's also extremely clean - I wish my house was that clean... :) But the most important part of TGS is the care and attention that the teachers and directors give the kids. My son started TGS when he was almost four months old, and even though I knew the school was wonderful, it was still scary to leave him for a full day. The teachers and directors are patient, kind, and caring - both with the students and the parents! They are always available for any questions and concerns throughout the day, and I definitely checked in a lot during those first few weeks of school. They are also available for advice - as a first-time parent, I had no idea when to transition my son to the next diaper size or how to introduce solid foods. The teachers helped us with everything, and have made parenting so much easier. TGS has an app that delivers updates throughout the day. I subscribe to all the updates, so I receive notifications when my son eats, has a diaper change, takes a nap, or does any of the fun activities that the teachers prepare for the kids. We also receive pictures during the day, and we love seeing our little guy having fun with his friends. Our two years at the school have been wonderful, and we plan to keep him at TGS until they kick us out :) Seeing our son make friends and learn so much every day has been more than worth the cost to attend, and we could not be happier with the school!
