Specialties
Massage specific to a patients/clients postural, pain, and health and wellness concerns, including postural and gait analysis at the beginning of massage. Integrated techniques include Lymph Drainage Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Fluid Pressure Dynamics, Visceral Manipulation, and Shiatsu Acupressure. Two or more techniques are utilized in unison, with the goal of enhancing the motlity of structures, in conjunction with the fluids moving in and out of structures, to create more fluidity and better balanced movement of structures, including muscles, joints, organs, nerves; everything is always moving to a rhythm of the circulation of fluids and/or nerve impulses. It is my job to optimize that movement, within the parameters of those natural rythms, for where you are at with your own posture and health on any given day, which allows further gain in everyday living. Typically, I use Lymph Drainage Therapy to cover body regions, all the while finding areas of tension, pressure points, trigger points, adhesions, which I tend to treat with a combination of Neuromuscular Therapy and Myofascial Release. Both these techniques require a sustained holding of a pattern, which can be either pointed, or broad handed, usually some combination of both. At some point, while still holding this pattern, I typically start to apply a very subtle lymph drainage technique while still holding the steady pressure, until tension changes.
History
Established in 2001.
My focus has always been supporting people in achieving greater health and function from where ever they are with their health. I very much enjoy helping athletes get the most out of their activities. As well, I see that all people need some help feeling better sometime, whether it be from tension head aches, seasonal allergies, the blessing of a pregnancy, or to fine tune your body for a long run or bike, I am interested in helping for whatever life brings. In particular, I have an interest in helping people stay at home in the Methow during a health crises, perhaps some hard healing injury or illness, including after surgery or in support of cancer care. I know local folks will heal better if they can stay home, and I have oriented a fair bit of my studies to help make that happen. Luckily, Lymph Drainage Therapy is very useful in basic healthy living, so anyone will benefit from my care. Greater relaxation and vitality are both expected benefits.
