Mischler's not only delivered to South Buffalo, it was a beautiful arrangement that bloomed for weeks. It was full and wonderful as delivered, but additional buds bloomed for weeks. Thanks to my partner, who has better instincts than mine. I would drive past it, thinking this location wasn't worth stopping. I won't write much about Weeks' Nursery. If you are looking for something more than just buying plants, be sure to visit them. A few times, the whole experience made my senses feel very close to magical moments. I even thought The Gray Cat would talk to me, but he was just showing me around.

Today it's filled with watering cans, garden implements, decorative bric a brac and some very pretty flowers. Any questions we had were answered promptly and courteously. Considering it's prime Main Street location, I expected the prices to be jacked up a bit. We were pleasantly surprised. The geraniums were a buck cheaper than the competitors and the hanging baskets were a steal. The place was attractive and nicely designed. They also do landscaping and patio installation. They seem to have grown, it would be nice to have a few more garden carts for easier plant selection.

They had lots of Easter décor when I visited for gift baskets and whatnot. They have a shelf with pre-shaped bonsai trees (seemed on the steeper pricing side) but I did not see any bonsai pots, soil, or care / maintenance tools for them, which tells me these are kind of intended to be a gift-and-forget-tree not a support-bonsai-hobbyists-tree. Overall prices felt high to me compared to other local garden centers and the atmosphere didn't give me a feeling like I wanted to hang out to learn more. Based on other reviews, maybe spring is not the right time to visit - maybe I'll try back in the fall when there are apples. Instead of a helpful or informative response, I was met with a dismissive tone and a lack of willingness to engage in the conversation. I completely understand that businesses may not want to share sourcing details, but the way it was communicated came across as unnecessarily guarded and unwelcoming. As a customer who is genuinely interested in plants and learning more, I expected a more respectful and informative interaction. There is a big difference between setting boundaries and making customers feel shut down. Unfortunately, this experience felt more like the latter. I hope this is something that can be improved, because customer interaction matters just as much as the products being sold.
