We called Franck after a year of having some issues with our Beagle related to aggression. It was never super serious, and since we had some light aggression training in the past, we thought we could handle it on our own. We ended up getting a puppy at the end of 2023 and the aggression issues escalated, sometimes involving the new puppy. We called Franck for the aggression issues and ultimately decided to do full on Level 1 obedience training with him. From the get-go, Franck had complete control of our dogs. During our initial meeting/evaluation, they were complicit in his instructions. It was honestly super impressive - akin to folks you see on TV and how the TV show dramatizes their ability to immediately control an animal. This was the real deal. About a month or so into our training, we had another aggression issue, while it wasn't terribly serious, and we intervened quickly, Franck decided it was best for the dogs to go home with him for a few weeks. We were totally on board - we weren't sure if we had the skills yet to do it ourselves - but we knew he could do it. Within a week we saw a huge change in the dogs in videos he sent us, not only their obedience training, but there was absolutely no aggression with food or otherwise. Franck was also extremely available to answer any questions we had, whenever we had them. That was such a help that we could easily reach out to him whenever we needed assistance. In short, our dogs are impressively obedient now. By far, the best trained dogs I have ever had. Our beagle actually comes to us, when called, with no drama. This dog could not give a crap that we'd call her if she was out in the yard prior to her training. Now, she will come within seconds of us calling her. Both of our dogs are very well potty trained now. Our puppy is a golden retriever, so she has genes that help her with obedience built right in, and she is freaking awesome to work with now, even at just 7 months old. This review is long overdue but I wanted to let the lessons that we received settle in so I could give a proper review. It's true that we learned more than our MaltiPoo. When we followed Franck's methods she caught on much faster than we did! Franck started training her when she was all of 3 months and 3lbs! I'll admit that I was extremely skeptical at first. I was afraid that using the prong and e-collar would cause aggression, fear, or alter her personality in some way. Let me tell you...it didn't in the slightest! I've only seen her become more trusting and loving. She's basically a Velcro dog at this point. Lol! Getting her properly trained at such a young age was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I can't tell you how many times I've been complimented on how well behaved she is...ESPECIALLY for a toy size breed. I can take her anywhere because she's so well behaved and sweet. She's outgoing and friendly to everyone she meets. She's such a well adjusted pup! More than anything we've gained confidence as dog owners and it's great to know that Rain has a trainer for life should we ever need him. The overall experience was fantastic. My wife and I fostered a dog from our local shelter who was due to be put down in 2 hrs. We couldn't let that happen so we gave him a chance. He was a hand full. Broke out of his crate. Tore up the house on more than one occasion, dragged you down the street if he saw another dog, (he's an 85lb Shepherd Pit mix). I was going to give up when my wife said we should give Franck a try on a recommendation from the shelter. Skeptical, I agreed. Franck, the trainer, showed up and was all business. Kind gentlemen, but with a no-bull attitude. One of the first things he said to us was "you can fire me and I can fire you" meaning if we didn't take the training seriously and did our homework, he would say bye bye. He was professional but caring and showed us amazing techniques to help deal with bad behavior and praise for good behavior. After 8 weeks of steady and consistent training, Kratos no longer pulls. He listens to commands with obedience. He goes in his crate without hesitation, he stays in his crate until given the command to exit but he still maintains his amazing personality that we fell in love with. We have 4 dogs. 2 we've had since pups, Kratos who we adopted after the training, and we are currently fostering another pit who was going to be put down the day after we saved him. I've been working on our new foster and within minutes of training Franck showed us, he no longer pulls like a mad man. After a day, he listens to sit, stay, and heel commands and will go into his crate with little resistance. It's miraculous. Franck is hands down the most talented dog trainer we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Our dog, Romeo, is a rescue we got from a shelter after having already been adopted twice before and returned. We haven't a clue what he went through in his past, but we know that it has caused him to show aggressive and nervous behavior. Our dog has been to two trainers before meeting Franck. Both trainers helped him become more obedient but never attempted to get down to the bottom of our dogs issues. When Franck came into our lives, that all changed. Franck met with us and provided an evaluation of our dog, Romeo. The entire time having a conversation with my wife and I, Franck was observing our dogs triggers, anxieties, aggression, reactions, etc. he was also observing my wife and my reactions to Romeo behavior. Keep in mind, the entire time Romeo was growling and snaring at Franck. By the end of our meeting, Franck was able to recommend ways that he could help. Franck took Romeo with him everyday for two weeks. Picked him up, worked with him all day and then brought him home. Slowly working toward getting Romeo to trust him as well as work through issues. Each day we would get an update on his progress. Franck would send videos and text messages throughout the day showing us what they were working on. By the end of the two weeks he had our, once extremely aggressive, dog walking off-leash at the mall during peak shopping hours. He even sent us a video of our dog at Macy's in a perfect down stay while people walked all around him! I never in my dreams thought this could happen. Although this sounds like Romeo went from demon to angel in two weeks, that not what Franck delivered. Rather he gave us something way, way better. He was honest with us about Romeos issues and explained how deeply engrained they were to be completely removed. We just wrapped up a 5-week on-leash training program with Franck at Starlite Dog Training to work with an older puppy we recently adopted. With Franck's guidance, we accomplished everything on our 'wish list' and more. Our initial 'wish list' included walking next to us with no distractions (vs. pulling) and good behavior in public places (like saying down at a restaurant). Sessions are ~1 hour each in duration, and owners and dogs receive detailed progress reports after each in-person session with homework to conduct until the next session. We love Franck, the best dog trainer ever! Our little girl, Mazel a Berniedoodle, was board trained at Franck's house. Every week we met, we could see how much Mazel had learned. Before her training, Mazel had all the puppy behaviors I could imaging: biting, jumping, pulling on leash, barking at every dog and every person, accidents in the house, chewing on furniture, etc. It has been over 1 month since Mazel graduated from her Level 1 training. All the bad behaviors mentioned above have shown no sign in our daily lives. She listens and responds to all commends very well. Our 18 month lab (Luna)had minimal training before, she was hard to walk on a leash and would run into the street if she saw a distraction. I am very grateful for the opportunity to share a positive review on my experience with Franck at Starlite. I have a very anxious Olde English Bulldogge. She (Boozy) is three years old and I have had her since 8 weeks old. I met her and began bonding since three days old. She is the happiest dog I have ever encountered, but getting her to be obedient was a real challenge because EVERYTHING gets her excited. Eg: She would get hyper (and break a heel) just by walking past a pine cone or dry leaf. So you can imagine how she would act around mail delivery or gardeners. Franck's training was effective on not only Boozy, but also on me! I have 4 older dogs at home. Some have no training at all, others have minimal training. Franck was able to train Boozy and me to the point that she obeys my commands even when the other dogs are misbehaving. I recently took her to a crowded AnJan's for a vet clinic where she was placed in a down stay for over 30 minutes until we saw the vet. I have a cattle dog that I just love to death! Unfortunately we went through a really bad phase where he was constantly afraid and began biting people. It got to the point that I was scared I could never do anything with him. I began working with Frank and right away I noticed how well my dog started picking up on things. I cannot recommend Franck enough. Hiring him to train my cavapoo puppy (Ren) was the best decision I could have made for my dog. Prior to training Ren would walk me. Sometimes he would lay down in the middle of the sidewalk and refuse to move. He didn't know the difference between sit and down and I had never been able to get him to stay. If he saw another dog and didn't get to say hi, Ren would immediately start crying and run towards the other dog. I did a consult with Franck and he was able to get Ren to not only sit and lay down, but also stay for several minutes. By the end of his training, I've been able to take Ren to restaurants with other dogs and he has stayed still for the entire time (almost two hours) despite the distraction. read more

We adopted Louie, a border collie/corgi mix, in January. Louie is a very friendly puppy, guessing he was about 6 months old at the time. When I say friendly, I mean friiiendly - overly so. I couldn't move through the house without jumping, licking, barking, circles being run, and worst of all, the nipping. Endless, painful, annoying. We tried many videos and articles to get 'tips' on how to train a dog, but nothing worked for more than a few minutes, and many contradicted each other. We finally realized it was US that needed to be trained. We were in over our heads. In walks Franck... As an intro, Franck brought another dog he borrowed from another client that was mid training. This dog sauntered in, laid down on the ground at Franck's command and waited until he was told he didn't have to. He then took some time to get to know Louie, who was more excited than ever having another dog in his midst. After just a few minutes you could start to see signs that Louie could be tamed. Over the next 10 weeks, we met with Franck once a week and learned what it took for us to train Louie properly. There were immediate results as Louie started to follow the instructions we were teaching him, just a few at a time. Over the course of a few weeks we started to see a different dog. After the full 10 weeks, we can now have Louie off-leash (which we generally choose not to, but we 'could') and are confident bringing him to crowded places like the farmer's market where there are many distractions. All through the training, Franck has been honest, patient and respectful to both the dog and the owners. It is obvious that he loves his work, and is passionate about bringing out the best in the dogs (and people!) he trains. Though the official training is now done, there is still work to do, but we have learned how to handle Louie and continue the training on our own, a skill that will stay with us. Franck is exceptional! He helped save our fur family when I got in over my head with 2 English Mastiff litter mate puppies. 5 Stars based on Results We adopted a beautiful Catahoula Leopard Hound/Pit mix and initially tried to train ourselves but quickly found that we did not have the proper skills and were not making progress - we tried the "Treat" method of using treats to create/enforce behavior which was totally ineffective and not a great way to go from a dietary perspective either. The techniques we learned while working with Starlite Dog Training totally changed our puppy into an obedient dog that we can take into any environment and maintain control with basic commands - we literally were thinking of giving up our dog until Starlite came into our lives and helped us understand the dogs perspective/pack mentality. I would highly recommend Startlite to anyone that needs help with getting your dog to be totally obedient and behaved, even in noisy distracting public spaces. Working with Frank and his company Starlite (starlitedogtraining.com) was the best decision I did for my dog and me. I came to own a 4 month Terroir/ Pitbull who had the most difficult time training because of his anxiety. I wanted to train my dog to stay by my side when walking, understand the commands of sit and down, and to come by myside when he is a distance away from me (typical dog owner stuff). I took my dog to Petco for the puppy training and had no success. The Petco dog trainer there attempted to use treats to have my dog do the command "come". My dog did not move a muscle; I would compare my dog to a big fuzzy rock at that moment of the Petco training. From there the Petco dog trainer suggested that I hire a professional dog trainer to help train my dog because Petco's training would not be enough to train my dog. From there I went home to research professional dog trainers. The first two dog trainers that popped up on my search was Cali K9 and Franks yelp page. I was going to take my dog to Cali K9 , but after watching a couple of videos of the training I got a weird vibe of the environment as well as owner of Cali K9. I then read all the reviews on Frank's yelp page which made me comfortable enough to call and set up my at home evaluation. Me being a first-time dog owner, I did not know how a dog trainer should look nor act around dogs. When I first met Frank he was in his company uniform which consisted of: brown hard boots, blue pants, black shirt with Starlite logo on it, a clip board with paper work, and an all-black cap (Professionalism check, ready to be outside or inside to work with my dog). From there Frank did his evaluation of my dog asking me questions of what type of behavioral and obedience challenges he currently faced. Example questions, -Does he listen to any commands? - Does he chew on any furniture? -Can he stay by your side when walking or does he lead the walk? - What are your goals for you and your dog during my training? ETC. After Frank finished with his questions, he pulled out his binder of courses he teaches to show me which would be best for me. Frank recommended the program that would help me reach my goal with my dog of staying by my side when walking and sitting on command. Having structured course on paper made it obvious that Frank new what he was doing and had my confidence to work with my dog. Yes, the prices for the course is a lot, but the training is 100 percent effective. I think Frank's courses are very old fashion which help build the connection between you and your dog. The best part of the dog training is that it does not rely on treats to train your dog, instead the treat system has been replaced with the praising system which will help your dog understand commands better. The training will work for any dog, but you have to put in the time and commitment when investing this much money into your dog ( I know, I did.1 hour a day for three months). After three months of training with my dog stays by my side off leash, "sit" and "down" on command, and his confidence has gone through leap and bounds. I highly recommend to train with Frank and his company Starlite. Frank is a very down to earth individual who wants you see you reach success with his courses. Frank has enough patience to watch grass grow, so expect Frank to leave each of the sessions making sure you understand the lesson and how to apply the technique correctly. I will be continuing my dogs training with Frank once I have mastered the 12 month course material I have recently learned. read more
