We can now take Moose off leash comfortably knowing she will come when called, sit and stay even in busy environments. I feel like we are happier humans and she is a happier dog thanks to Sam's help. The training style used was also based on rewarding Moose with play rather than food or negative reinforcement, which I really appreciate and didn't know much about before. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. Highly recommend Dog Wizard and Sam!

Probably my highest review ever for a service I haven't used yet. hear me out…read more I just rescued a Rat Terrier puppy called Raffi from Texas, who showed signs of abuse and trauma upon arrival. I've parented/known many rescues in the past and never seen anything like the fear she exhibited. fully freaked out, I shot a message to Atlanta Dog Wizard with an SOS to help. Kat quickly got in touch and we had about a 30-min call, which provided me with INVALUABLE insight into my urgent situation. That information she gave me--keep in mind, I had paid no money for her advice or training to this point--gave me some practices I could use, right away, to make Raffi feel more comfortable. I still might officially use Atlanta Dog Wizard in the future, if Kat is any indication how the company does things. She has a passion for rescues and turning around challenging situations and making dogs (and humans) shine. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The employees were so helpful and kind in answering all my questions. I dropped my dog off for a "vibe check" during the day prior to boarding, which I really appreciated because it helped both parties get a better sense of service comparability. Overall, mochi had such a great time and came home completely exhausted and happy. If I weren't just in ATL for a few weeks, I would 100% use this service again! Special mention: I loved receiving a "report card" at the end of each day in boarding. It was so fun getting to see what my dog was up to while I was gone!

I honestly don't leave reviews very often, but I really want to support this business and see them succeed because they have been so great to both me and my dog Goose. I have a high energy, high anxiety 3 year old goldendoodle with some quirks. This is the 3rd day care we've tried in as many years and this team has by far made me feel the most comfortable out of any daycare we've tried out. Before we booked our vibe day one of their team members spent at least 30 minutes on the phone with me listening to my concerns (based on previous day cares we've visited) answering my questions with so much patience and kindness. They actually communicate with me at pick up and drop off (I don't have to try to pull information out of them, they update me and let me know if there is anything I should be aware of) and are very responsive over text. I can tell the owner and staff not only truly care about my dog, but also know their stuff - how to make appropriate corrections when needed, how to separate groups, give breaks, etc. based on each dogs needs. Previous day cares I've gone to both indoor only and indoor/outdoor have sent my 65lb dog home pretty dirty at times which almost makes daycare more of a pain (having to unexpectedly bath my big wild boy is not something that's a quick and easy process). Not only does he not come home dirty, but one time the owner Azhia brought him out when I was picking him up and I was like "why does he smell clean?". She said that she always thought it was a pain when she would pick her dogs up from daycare and they were a mess and so she goes the extra mile for her clients (they wipe them down as needed - but you can also easily add on things like teeth brushing, nail dreamels, licky mats, baths, etc. for small extra charge) They let them be dogs and get messy while they're there which I love, but I literally picked up a cleaner dog then I dropped off . Their outdoor area is pretty large with different sections for different dogs, has a sandbox and kiddy pool, etc. but they also have an indoor area. They upload pictures and videos on their site that you get linked to in text/email vibe reports everyday they visit, which is so fun and they update their IG account with stories everyday so you get some great pics and videos of your pet, as well as a bit of an understanding of their day. One of the team members Brice and I have gotten to know each other a bit at pick ups and drop offs over quick chats, since they come out to your car for both (another perk!) I happened to mention Goose needed to be groomed but I was trying to figure out how to make it work with my current schedule. He told me that he knew an excellent groomer that he could have come to City Dogz and they would just bring him in for his groom in time for me to pick him up. Not only did she do a fantastic job, but she has very competitive pricing as well. I used to pick up my dog from a daycare, where I could literally see on the camera that their staff was just sitting in the room looking at their phones while dogs just kind of walked or laid around. My dog wasn't necessarily excited to get dropped off and would come back acting like he hadn't been mentally or physically enriched for lack of a better word. Not only does my dog rush to the gate excited to go inside at City Dogz, but he also snuggles up to the various team members when he gets picked up so I know he is happy there and trusts them. He's also generally calm when he gets picked up so I know he got some good energy out. Doggy day care and boarding is too expensive to drop money when you don't feel comfortable that your dog is getting the right play and attention and care in my opinion. I'm so happy with my experience, when my commute changes, I'll end up driving out of my way to bring Goose here as needed, as opposed to the option that is just down here street for me. I'm sure you're all sick of reading if you've made it this far . Check them out, they're the best!!!

I was very excited when I first met with my trainer. Unfortunately, tools are not something that I…read moredid not necessarily want to use. I, myself, a novice, not a trainer, had been using a prong collar. I was jarred when she used the prong to correct my 10 month old puppy, and said he was in shock because she kept snapping the leash. That was a bit too much for me. However, when I asked the trainer what method they used, and I was told the LIMA method. I was confused as to why corrections with tools were being used. After reaching out to a few trainers, this is what I have found about the LIMA METHOD; There are technically 2 views on what this term means. The original definition has a hierarchy of things that must be done before going to usage of tools of discomfort such as prong collars and the like. The newer more common conversation has left the hierarchy behind and does not allow for use of such tools at all. So I was definitely not understanding why the trainer seem led to be using the prong as a crutch to train. I was only using it for walking, and eventually would have liked to not use a prong collar at all. The trainer was definitely professional, but using tools to walk, place, sit, basically give any command was not something I was interested in. At one point when she kept snapping the leash on my youngest puppy, teaching him place I expressed that I had taught my other puppy how to be in place without doing that. My hope was that they would see if I can do it without snapping, a leash and a prong collar on the dog that they can do it too but the same behavior kept happening. I also let the trainer know that my other pup would bite if you tried to take food away that he found on the street, but we were not using that scenario at all when training. Since I am not a trainer, I can only go by what other trainers have told me. They have told me that unless I have aggressive dogs that are biting or trying to hurt others that prong collars are really an antiquated tool as is the e collar. Definitely no hard feelings. Just not the training method for me.

***LONG REVIEW BUT WORTH THE READ***…read more This is my sweet, rowdy, rambunctious, and very demanding pup Rhodi! As a first time puppy owner, I just wanted to keep her happy. I let her get away with a lot! I quickly realized that I was not in charge of her but she was in charge of me. What I thought was being sweet was in Rhodi's mind "I can do whatever I want because I won't be punished for it." She would chew any object she could find, bark at me constantly when I wasn't doing what she wanted, would not listen to me when I would call her name, jumped on me and other people, tried to escape out the front door, and peed in the house. I watched videos upon videos but nothing helped! I was doing research on dog trainers and the first thing I thought was "this is so overpriced!" As a young college student with a rowdy dog, I was determined to find the best price with the most qualified trainer and I did! Bark Busters and specifically Cody are the best thing I could have done for both me and Rhodi. I was really nervous about having someone in my home "telling" me how to train my dog, but Cody TAUGHT me. If there was something I was struggling with, like leash training, he showed me an alternative way for me to get her to listen to me. The thought in my mind was "wow, he's not making me do it this way because it's the right way, but he found me a way that was Rhodi's right way I could do confidently." Cody was validating my feelings about not wanting to hurt Rhodi's feelings and continued to talk to me about ways that would not harm my dog or hurt her feelings. Simply being able to "talk" to Rhodi in a way she could understand that I was in charge and that she would still be safe and okay was the goal. In a matter of 2 hours Rhodi was trained! Cody did his job and now it's my turn to do mine with her by following through with the keys to success only Cody could have given to me.

I was nervous about having to train two dogs with different needs, and at different life stages. Cody was amazing. He took the time to understand the different need for both dogs and made improvements that day. Chunk was awful on the leash and would chase anything that moved. Day 2 and I can't believe the difference in control on the walks. Charlie is a puppy and well needs obedience with several indoor behaviors. Happy to say today was successful in going to his bed. The investment in Bark Busters is well worth it for any dog owner. If you're in the Atlanta area Cody is the trainer I recommend. Beyond being great with the dogs he makes you as the owner feel comfortable. He gives you the right techniques and confidence that change and obedience is possible. Cody's open and makes it clear that he is available from here on out if there is anything that I need. Was very nervous about having someone in my home and training my dogs. This was the best decision I could make for me and the boys!

Prior to his training with Robin, he knew some basic commands but he'd only obey them if he was incentivized by a treat or toy. He constantly pulled on his leash and we definitely did not trust him off leash. Our primary goal with training was off leash walking and recall and Robin knocked it out of the park. It's been 7 months since his training and he's still crushing it. During training, she sent us updates almost every day so we could watch his progress and he had a great time with them. When Robin dropped him off after his training, he cried when she left - that's how much fun he had during his board and train. Since then, we have boarded Milo with Robin and David 5 or 6 times and Milo's always so happy to see them. David always picks Milo up and drops him off at our house and he's always professional and on time. We're planning on getting another dog in a year or two and will absolutely have Atlanta Dog Stars do their training as well. We did a lot of research before choosing a dog trainer and we could not recommend Robin and David enough.

I thought I'd give a fair objective review of Master Christian…read more Firstly, I find it obligatory to mention that I did not pay Master Christian. I first spoke with Master Christian on 8/24/19. I had a perculliar situation, as I'm not from the area. I was looking to buy a dog in his area, I wanted to use his services because: He's an unbiased 3rd party He could train the dog to understand commands, making my ownership easier He could facilitate recieving a dog to ensure that I do not get scammed on a trip to pick up a dog. Here's a few points where Master Christian failed: He gave several opinions which materially was false. He mentioned that his consultancy rate was $100 an hour, not to mention that he was literally driving or out and about the times that he called me. He mentioned that he emailed me a 'contract', a contract that he admits was a lazy contract with no specific details. When I repeatedly asked for the contract to verify price and details, he mentions that he sent it, but it was never received, no proof was ever sent of him sending the email. When asked specifically if his deposit would be returned if the dog never shows up, he explains that it would not. He mentions that he would take credit card as a form of payment, but would need to charge 8-10% to cover taxes. Events: We had 5 calls with each other that lasted 20, 5, 9, 5 minutes long each respectively. Our first call was to figure out his services, and describe the situation I was in. He mentioned that his services would cost $1250 for a 14-day advanced obedience training, and an extra $50 for materials. The following calls was to exchange details about a potential drop off. Our last two calls were specifically of him asking for a $200 non-refundable deposit. When I mentioned that I wanted things to be set in stone before I paid him, he wanted to assure me of something that would end up not happening. I sent the seller and him a short 1-page contract via email, I requested pictures, unique identfiers, pictures of the dog, and timeline for delivery and action items. In our 5th and last phone call, he mentioned that he skimmed the document, it was clear in the remainder of our conversation that it was a lie. My conclusions about Master Christian: Master Christian makes or alludes to guarantees that are not guarantees so that he can get paid. Master Christian will actively decieve you by saying that he's done things that he has not and are rather consistent and highly difficult to forge (sending emails). My opinion is that he is lazy (never did a 1-2 minute read of an email to detail the delivery) Speaks of things he is unknowledgeable about, and tries to gouge for more money. Use him if you want, he probably does the job just fine. I don't have any first hand account of any of his primary services, but it is obvious (to me) that he is willing to say anything to get your money.
