This restaurant is located in a food market called The Marché des Enfants Rouges. There were several options including Lebanese and Italian. There is also a cheese shop. I had been wanting to try couscous in Paris so chose to stop here. You order at the counter. While standing in line that went quite fast I saw the many options available including lots of veggies prepared different ways. There were also these round individual pies that looked like they were wrapped in filo dough called pastillas. But I went for kafta (beef) couscous which had lots of veggies. There is a also a vegetarian couscous. The meal was brought to my table on a clay dish. The couscous was moist and flavorful. And to top it off, I had mint tea. It was so good that I had three glasses. Perhaps it would have been cheaper to order the pot of tea after all. I highly recommend going to Le Marais area of Paris to enjoy a meal there. If I would have had more time, I would have returned. The Moroccan men at the restaurant were quite nice.

Had the Plat Du Jour which was a sampling of all the meats - chicken curry, lamb meat balls, and sausage link - with couscous and stewed veggies. The flavors were rich and bold, although I would have liked a little more spice but that's just personal preference. The curry chicken was my favorite. It actually tastes very similar to a Vietnamese curry which was surprising and amazing.

This restaurant counter is in the famous Marché couvert des Enfants Rouges. It houses maybe 20+ restaurant counters ( essentially a food court). The Marché is 5 stars and shouldn't be missed. I can't wait to go back and sample the other venues. The food is widely varied ethnically. Their display of different dishes was tantalizing and made me want to try everything! I ordered the salad royal and vegetable couscous with chicken skewers. The salad was a sampling of four different types: a slight pickled carrot-parsley-cumin mixture, a salsa like salad with tomato-parsley-green peppers-onion, a roasted green and red pepper salad and an eggplant salad. All were tasty - although rather small for 13€ and it did not come with bread. The couscous came with stewed carrot, squash and zucchini and the two chicken skewers were marinated in herbs ( delicious). Only issue I had was they microwave their hot food since it is all prepared prior and scooped up and zapped. They had seating in the back in the shade which was a nice place to rest my feet! Great place for lunch! I would recommend coming early or late because lines can be long.

The staff at this place took great care of me on a raw, snowy January afternoon. I was guided to an outdoor *heated* seating area protected by plastic which took some of the chill away. The eggplant couscous was very good and was beautiful, as are the tile tables. I recommend a side of the hot fresh bread which is akin to a spongy naan.

Located in Le Marché des Enfants Rouges, you'll easily find Le Traiteur Marocain by its long line. This place is one of the largest stands in the market, and it receives a long line. The place can get seriously packed for lunch sometimes. The food is good. I had a couscous royal (lots of random meats) which was well cooked and tasted very good. It wasn't cheap, and since I do not speak the language well, I will say that it was a bit intimidating to understand the custom. But I believe you order, find a seat and wait for your food. But I didn't get a number or anything. We got by with my poor French and hand signs! =P

I will probably eat here every day they are open. Closed Mondays. I had the merguez plate. Lord. This is the stuff. Preserved lemons and several type of olives jumping out of the vegetable and beef and sausage. Plus coucous. Get a Moroccan tea to go with. Eat at the mosaic tile tables. Less than 14 euros. Wow.

(my other choice for lunch at le Marché de Enfants Rouges. a bit tough to choose from the selection but i love the couscous merguez with vegetable tagine. and mint tea, of course. good and most of all, cheap-10€.)

The decor in here is quite stunning. You really feel like you're in Morocco with the decorations. And it's also not even that loud, which is perfect for a nice intimate dinner. Had the Kefta with Moroccan Salad and Royal Pigeon Pastilla as starters, Lamb Tagine with Seasonal Fruits and Kefta Meatball Couscous for entrées, and the Selection of Moroccan Pastries as dessert. Portions were really good and everything was super tasty. Not the absolute best food I've ever had, but I was not disappointed. Staff here are quite friendly. Even though they don't all speak English, they are very nice and helpful. And yes, they do have English menus at least. Really enjoyed Essaouira, glad I made the trip here.

Five Fabulous Stars for: 1) Amazing Falafel, just so delicious and crispy on the outside and not pasty but perfect on the inside. Hot and fresh, they had a few in the bin but told me it would be a couple of minutes for the new ones. Love it! 2) Love the limitless topping bar with a bunch of great sauces and veggie toppings. The grilled cauliflower was DAYUMMM ( CJ in NY I am trying but only you have the true impact) as were the marinated chick peas. The green sauce Wowza! Fries were fantastic with a killer seasoning. 3) The hours are perfect for the jet lagged and up at 1:15 am ( Paris time which is 7:15 pm previous day in NY) folks with the gavone hunger pangs. Close at 2 am Thursday through Saturday. Open at 11 am daily. 4) Nice location right in the 5th district of Paris ( Latin Quarter) just south of the Siene river. Clean interior and COVID and mask compliant. 5) 2 fivers for a big ass falafel sandwich, plus a huge order of fries and a bottle of Perrier. No that's too French. Just regular agua. The employees are sweet and generous and kept piling on the toppings per my request,. Nine Euros( $ 10.20 approx) is a steal for this quality and quantity plus the excellent and generous service. Few seats inside. Just grab the two mega falafel sandwiches, walk a few yards and grab a seat next to me ( or 2 metres away ;) in this very cool district of Paris.

The interior of TAÂM is very clean and comforting with a Morocan/Maghreb feel to it. I enjoyed it a lot. They played some relaxing music here (at least when I went) and what surprised me is they serve food on metal platters. This is exactly the type of place I was looking for after a long day of work. I am not an expert on Maghreb food but It seems like the food here is pretty authentic. The couscous was great... honestly before coming here I always thought couscous was steamed vegetables or something but I am happy that its actually more of a grain dish. I ordered some hot spiced tea as well and It was delicious! Overall the meal was fairly filling and pleasant. I don't go to many North African restaurants so this place was a delight to go to.
