Not impressed by the effort. The outside is pretty intimidating for the uninitiated, you'd never know there's a little club there. Saturday was supposed to open at 11 but wasn't. Was told that there was another gay bar nearby called The Red Cafe but couldn't find it. Went to The Six which was pretty packed with regulars but again, tiny. Overall the gay scene in Nice makes me long for good ol' NYC where we have whole neighbourhoods of 'gay' and don't have to party behind locked doors like criminals.

Went on a…read moreSaturday night after a beautiful dinner at the promenade We waited in line for about 40 minutes while we watch the guy at the door let people he knew go in front of everyone on the line. When we finally got to the door close to him he decided to ask one of my two friends why he was not smiling. My friend simply didn't respond and continue to look at his phone. Just because of that ( I know it sounds impossible) we were denied entry. He said if my friend would not smile for him we couldn't go in. That if I wanted to come back alone without him I could..... I've never felt more insulted or discriminated in a gay bar before. Our community has endured so much and continues to do so and gay bars should be our safe places. Where we are accepted and not mistreated. We have traveled a lot all over the world, as I type this review we've been for a month all over Europe and never ever at any gay venue we've seen this kind of behavior. I'm unsure of who this gentleman is, I would hope he is not the owner..... would be very sad if he was.

On the weekends, there is live Jazz, and it is clear that the owner is very passionate about wine and jazz. He was very pleasant, and friendly, and enthusiastically explained to us that he personally visits the wineries to taste and select the wines. I was visiting with my 10 year old daughter, so we didn't stop by for a tasting, but I would highly recommend this place for any wine enthusiast.
