Very elegant interior, with tasteful decor, soft ambient music, best for couples, but also able to accommodate larger groups with a reservation. We were seated right away and greeted by our server Sona, very gracious, patient, attentive, and professional. She asked about any allergies and then took our order of chicken tikka saag and chicken tikka masala, both medium spiciness (also asked if we would like Indian medium or European medium--we chose Indian medium). These entrees come with rice, and we also ordered garlic naan. Immediately, they brought chilled bottled water and complimentary thin crispy cracker like bread with red sauce and green sauce (I didn't catch the names). I liked the green sauce better (mint), and my husband liked the red one better (tamarind)--both were lovely. About 20 minutes later, our entrees arrived piping hot, and cooked to perfection! Tender chicken, savory rich flavors in the masala and saag, both the right level of spicy for us! Glad we had enough rice and water! Excellent restaurant --Sona was amazing and the whole experience delicious!

The lamb saag was absolutely delicious and the salad was quite good as well. We weren't huge fans of the mixed tandoori plate, the flavors weren't very developed and it needed more spice, but we were overall satisfied with the service and the dining experience. It appears from the other reviews that the momos are one of the best things to eat here, but I personally couldn't because I am gluten free, so considering how delicious the saag is, I bet dishes other than the tandoori are very delicious as well! Overall I would recommend this place.

Fast forward a few years and now I'm delighted to accompany them to vegan restaurants such as Meatless District in Amsterdam, NL. The food was exquisite as was the service. I'm now obsessed with watermelon sashimi. I prefer this vegan bitterballen to the traditional because I didn't like the texture of the meat inside. I feel the dutch really like pureed meat. The mushroom bitterballen was so delicious as was everything else. The braised artichoke was just ok. Nothing to write home about but nothing wrong with it. It's just that everything else was so unique including the desserts. Lovely ambiance in the restaurant. I give my experience a 4 overall for the artichoke and I must mention the bathroom. This is more of a Dutch thing than anything else. Gender neutral bathrooms are cool. We Americans don't see that a lot. The problem is the individual stall was up a flight of stairs and so small that I couldn't even sit on the toilet and then there was nothing to pull myself up to get out the position I had gotten myself into. It was awkward. This stall needs a bar or something to help those of us who are not as able as we used to be. I'd go eat here again to try more of their dishes.

After all, no trip to Amsterdam is complete without at least getting fries from somewhere! Got a medium with truffle mayo. And yes, their social media team confirmed there is actual truffle in that mayo! I don't think the fries are quite as crispy as their competitor, but I definitely enjoyed them nonetheless. Staff here was really friendly. Even though I came here super late and near closing hours, the guy working the counter was super nice and doused my fries with plenty of truffle mayo. Can't go wrong with Vlaamse Frites whatsoever! Next time I'm probably going to have get both to have a pure side-by-side comparison.

The line to order is nonexistent but the waiting is after the order is placed while you anxiously stand there, elbowing others for a closer spot to the person yellling out the fry order names. We are ending a 2 week trip that started in Belgium so needless to say, our qualifications speak for themselves and our standards are high. We are leaving tomorrow so wanted to get one final taste of those crispy fries and thick sauces on our lips until further notice. They are not quite as crispy as Belgian fries but similar in size. The sauces were DELICIOUS but I noticed that the bottom fries in the cone are bare. The Belgians have some fry magic that even though they pour sauce over the top, somehow, every last fry even on the bottom is covered with the stuff. That technology has not crossed the border it would seem. The fries themselves (without the sauce) aren't anything to lose your shit over but I don't know how comparable that is to the area's fries. Clutch if you are in a pinch, solid under all other circumstances.

This conveniently-located (just a stone's throw from Centraal Station) eatery boasts many options (all vegan, too!), but there really is no contest--the falafel is awesome. It's hot and fresh and perfectly seasoned. It comes in a warm and pillowy pita. You get access to an incredibly inviting salad bar with which to top your masterpiece. There are sauces galore. (Try the ones that are labeled hot chili if you like a pleasant bit of tongue-tingling goodness.) Prices are reasonable, and though the place was hopping, it was easy to find seating, which is available inside and out and is clean and comfortable. I went for an early dinner (I have no idea how long I have been awake), but this would be a perfect lunch spot. They also have freshly-squeezed orange juice. While I didn't try it, there's a giant juice press in one corner of the space--it really adds to the "fresh vibes" of this place.

AYCE conveyer belt food that you grill yourself??? Hells yeah!…read more I must admit, the View has an interesting... view on serving food! Not only is it an all you can binge place, the food comes directly to your table on a conveyer belt and once you receive your food, you either stuff it in your onbeperkt greedy mouth or place it on the grill at your table. I've been to several AYCE places, Kaiten-zushi places with the conveyer belt system, and Korean restaurants where you grill you own meat. But NEVER all three at once! And to top that off.... Free drinks including beer and wine! Let me tell you what I like about this place: 1. Tables and chairs are set up so they face the window so you have a nice view of the water and the floating dim sum island (aka Sea Palace) 2. Each chair has a golden cover so your coats, shawls, speedos, mink furs, etc can be shielded from the grill smoke/smell 3. The food has flavor!! When the meat items came out, I assumed they were just slabs of meat and sausages, but they were actually properly flavored! The lamb chops, lamb sausage and mini burger patties were particularly pleasing to my mouth Now the biggest question is, what are you able to eat within your two hours of blissful binging? Drink: Heineken beer, tap white wine, tap red wine, fizzy drinks (pepsi products) and bottled beverages Non-conveyer belt (aka get off your lazy ass and get it yourself food): soup du jour, bread, tapenade, hapjes (like bitterballen, fried cheese, calamari, etc.), fries, nasi goreng, and 50 billion sauces for your food and sate sticks Conveyer belt food: Aaaaawww... sit back, relax, and let the food come to you!! Not all needs to be grilled and I'm sure I'm missing some stuff, but here goes! Beef cappacio, mini salads, raw squid, chicken sate, bief steak, lamb chops, sausages of various kinds, tempeh, tofu sate, marinated white fish, raw salmon, fried shrimp sushi rolls, tuna sushi rolls, raw tuna, pinwheels, caprese sticks, pork sate, melon wrapped ham, different flavored shrimps, shrimp chips, Indonesian chips, corn on the cob, veggie combo... ok I'm tiring my already limited long-term memory, but let's just say what DON'T they have?! Dessert: Ice cream (vanilla, strawberry, lemon, chocolate, banana), freshly cut fruits, and my favorite.... Indonesian layer cake. MMmmmm!! If you are in the mood for all you can binge AND drink AND grill AND whatever.... Restaurant View is THE place!! Oh and true to the former reviews, the service is creepily nice - but better than creepily rude!!! So bring you stretchy pants and be prepared for the view of your living room wall once you are in a foma on your couch after two hours of piggy eating!

It almost prevented me from going, but given…read morethe slim pickings of good all you can eat places, we decided to give it a chance and were pleasantly surprised. I normally expect all you can eat places to serve up sub-par meats, but this place was lambing pretty hard! Plates come out on a conveyer belt and you can choose from a variety of fish, meats, veggies, appetizers, sushi etc. Some of the meats and fish are raw and you can cook it at your own table on a small round grill. You can also get different kinds of sauces from the sauce bar, so we cooked the meats as is or added sauces and it was DELICIOUS!!! I think the most memorable item was the lamb chops... super tender and bursting with flavors! I also liked the small dessert buffet with 4 ice cream flavors, small cake pieces, and the Indonesian layer cake. I don't know why it wasn't rated higher before, but I would definitely go back! I am still full and thinking of that tasty lamb...
