We were feeling adventurous after spending almost 2 weeks in wine country and decided to ask him for a suggestion in the cocktails. He prepared a ginger beer and rum one for me, it was very good. We then decided to order a cheese and charcuterie plate, and switched to red, also very good. As we chatted with him and his colleague we discussed the merits of the American cocktail known as the Martini and how it is not a French thing at all. Once we finished our food and a few glasses of wine, he insisted on making and buying us a Martini, we were a little more than tipsy by this time and decided we could share one. Result: we now know where to get the best Dry Gin Martini, straight up with olives in all of France, it was so good that the hubby sang them a little Singing in the rain ditty with his umbrella, and we all parted with big smiles on our faces.
