had my first taste of salade niçoise in my teens somewhere in the côte d'azur and was my first lunch at arrival recenlty. classic provençal recipe of red bell pepper, shallots, lettuce, tomatoes, haricot vert, cailletier olives, boiled egg, tuna and anchovies was summery perfect. Le Saf is a kitschy bistro in old town Antibes that serves up brilliant seafood from the local waters. also have the grilled mediterranean sardines with a lemon-olive persillade and garlicky moules gratinée. trivia: Port Vauban Antibes is the largest marina in Europe.

My friend and I found this restaurant based on the good ratings on Google. It was our first night…read morein Antibes, we were excited to try out the food here. When we got there, there was one French couple waiting in front of us, and they got seated fairly quickly. It was already close to 9pm and there were some empty tables. We patiently waited and made sure the owner saw us. About 20 minutes later, we saw another Caucasian couple walked in without waiting in line and got seated right away. We were a bit confused, so we finally walked up to the owner and politely asked how long it was going to take to get us seated. She didn't give a straight answer, just kept telling us to wait, could be 20-30 minutes or longer. Well, it was then obvious to us we were not welcomed there because we were not white. As an Asian from Los Angeles, I had never been treated like this in a restaurant. This is pure discrimination and disrespect towards non-white customers. I felt sick to my stomach. Your food might be good, but your lack of integrity is utterly distasteful. I read other reviews on Google who shared similar experience there as being non-white. I felt the need to speak up and share my experience here so that people with good character can avoid this place.
