A cinema which is…read moreclearly run by enthusiasts; an eclectic program of art-films, black-and-white classics, noir, nouvelle vague, Downstairs the smaller screen, usually for the old films on celluloid, with a regular older crowd and comfy chairs to suit. Upstairs the much larger screen, usually digital projection (and good projection, too) but with terrible, flimsy, bum-numbing seats too crowded together, so you always have someone kicking you in the back. Only tolerable if you sit on the back row and so have no-one behind you. Three stars for upstairs, five for the downstairs.
