They're right near the ticket counter and naturally the door to the Men's room is propped open. I stood there pissing and could make eye contact with people standing in the ticket line. But I won't complain too hard 'cause the room smelled like you'd gutted a large animal inside it. The smell inside that room with the door closed would have been horrendous. Leg room. None! I'm 5'10" and I had to stand for there to be any chance that anyone could walk past me. And after going back into the theater to get the discount ticket for parking, one machine breaks and the other one says that the discount is no good. Awesome!! The next movie we see in France we're going to a different theater. Oh...and the dude sitting next to me..... with the beautiful woman on his arm.... had rockin' BO.

They also tend to show very good short film programs and have a nice space for fancy but packed cocktail parties. The last film by Raoul Ruiz, 'Mysteres de Lisbonne' was playing there recently, if it still is you should hurry up and watch it!

Upstairs the much larger screen, usually digital projection (and good projection, too) but with terrible, flimsy, bum-numbing seats too crowded together, so you always have someone kicking you in the back. Only tolerable if you sit on the back row and so have no-one behind you. Three stars for upstairs, five for the downstairs.

The place is small and intimate, in a low-key manner, the mood is not uptight, you can feel it's a place that's alive and where people like to gather and enjoy thinking instead of renting their available brain time to television. I liked the play a lot ("Zazie dans le métro" by Raymond Queneau in a slightly kinky adaptation) but that's secondary here: just check if there's something playing that you'll like, go and enjoy a great Parisian cultural experience!
