When the pidélices came out, they were piping hot and covered in both sesame and poppy seeds. They were crispy, airy, and almost like a pizza in a paper thin baguette. The chef brought us a tasting of the lentil soup - his mother's recipe, he told us. It was thin, flavorful, and delicate. Not what I expected, but I enjoyed it enough to order a bowl. I wished I had a baguette to enjoy with the soup. At the end, the owner wished us well and invited us back if we needed any help while visiting the city, which was genuine and kind. He has a gift fir making people feel welcome and appreciated. Overall, we had a great meal and got back on the road on schedule. It was a great stop!
