We managed to enjoy our last day here with an amazing 29 euro prix fix lunch! The quality of the food was super fresh. Lynch was in the more casual cafe area of this restaurant. Dinner is upstairs in the fancier dining room. But this is perfect because for lunch most people are rolling in casual either partly in ski gear or in jeans. The duck rillette that I had came in a jar and was so tasty esp with the perfect baguette. There was a decent amount to choose from in the lunch menu. We paired it with an excellent bottle of Beaujolais! Definitely want to come back for the tasting menu dinner the next time we're in Val D'Isere. This is the reason why we come back year after to year to ski in the French Alps.

It still had a fantastic flavor and the vegetables were to die for. What really knocked the meal out of the park was the dessert. We split a piece of chocolate cake on a lemon cookie crust with raspberries on the side. Just...wow. Sweetness, tartness, texture, this dessert had it all in perfect balance. The tour manager recommended we travel into the old town center. I found this restaurant through Yelp and their Rosti varieties plus the food quality are exactly what I needed for a lunch stop. The Rosti did not disappoint. Full disclaimer: Rosti can be a bit heavy with the cooking process that can include butter along with some bacon. Yes, the Rosti had the expected greasy texture, but just enough to make it savory without overpowering the various ingredients. I would recommend this restaurant if you are interested in trying the traditional Rosti dish in several varieties.
