We managed to enjoy our last day here with an amazing 29 euro prix fix lunch! The quality of the food was super fresh. Lynch was in the more casual cafe area of this restaurant. Dinner is upstairs in the fancier dining room. But this is perfect because for lunch most people are rolling in casual either partly in ski gear or in jeans. The duck rillette that I had came in a jar and was so tasty esp with the perfect baguette. There was a decent amount to choose from in the lunch menu. We paired it with an excellent bottle of Beaujolais! Definitely want to come back for the tasting menu dinner the next time we're in Val D'Isere. This is the reason why we come back year after to year to ski in the French Alps.

Luckily my hostess got the insight about this tea house from her daughter who had visited just two days before. When you enter the place you see the adorable decorative items reminiscent of a French cafe. There are small cafe tables and an enclosed patio that is adjacent to the main room. You feel as if you are a world away...which could be why there were so many couples chatting or whispering sweet nothings to each other. One's eyes are drawn automatically to the display case with shelves of tortes... Drooling is expected from this luscious display. The menu of beverages reads like a novel; it is so large: green teas, infusions, Chinese teas, Indian teas, Black teas, hot chocolates, etcetera etcetera. I had a slice of Arancia cheesecake which was cheesecake with a layer of marmalade and slices of Orange on top. With this I had an infusion called "Feeling Good." There is plenty of indoor seating including stools, tables, and also an outdoor patio. Dogs are also welcome here! They also sell accessories like mugs, tin boxes and trinkets. There is also an option to add a fried egg or additional meats for one euro. The dishes were surprisingly good. I've never had savory crepes before so this was shockingly good. The figs were good counterbalance to the saltiness if the speck. The salmon my wife ordered as very fresh but wasn't a fan of the potatoes. We also ordered some local reds and they were absolutely delicious. Both wines were from Asti. Overall I think this is a great place for a quick meal.
