    Croque Madam

What an inviting cafe and wonderful find while exploring the boutiques in Marais. The vintage decor and the pastel colors instantly caught my attention. It is unclear, but it seems like a nice little local spot. The customers did not strike me as tourists. The service was very slow. However, this is the type of cafe that you don't mind taking your time in. Something about the place makes you feel relaxed. It was not crowded inside, however, the outside seats were taken. I went midday on a Friday. The food is average. But average in a good way. The same way you would feel about a typical restaurant chain place. Nothing over the top, but you still leave pretty satisfied. I ordered the Croque Madam - openfaced ham, egg, and cheese which came with a side salad and potatoes/fries. It was a very decent lunch on a very nice day. The place is not pricey so it is a great value.

Love this place. We stopped by early in the day for a coffee. The service was quick and friendly and the coffee was good too. We noticed the beautiful salads then. After shopping for hours we came back for salad and beer. We had the Love Boat with salmon and the INCA with quinoa and lentils . Both were excellent. They have Hoegaarden and Paulaner October fest on tap. Very fresh. The place feels like 50's diner meets french neighborhood. Sit inside or out!

Fantastic. Started the day out right.

I love the tartine. I used to go here every-other week for brunch, when I was living in Paris.

I started off with an Expresso Martini which was very good and yes this is how it is spelled here and I like that because that is how I always pronounce it. With our drinks our waiter even brought us out fresh olives. Now I'm not the biggest fan but Ashley very much enjoyed it. There was a lot on the menu that I was interested in and they had a number of different cuts of beef but I had to go with the Whole Duck Breast which is also a French classic which I got cooked medium rare but I'm perfect sure that's how they suggest it which is the right way like they do with all their beef too. Ashley and I also split the French Onion Soup. I will say by Duck was very good. Tasty rich sauce with crispy duck skin cooked perfectly. Some of the best duck I have had in awhile. I will say the French Onion Soup though was a little bland. I just didn't have that rich beef broth I am used too. Beside that everything was very good and would for sure recommend going to Café Blanc for a nice menu which amazing French options.

We spoke to a lady who was American but moved to Paris years ago. She recommended the chocolate hazelnut which changed her life. So us fat kids sampled the 6 flavors which the girl brought us inside the business to give us the samples. I then told her large she gave me extra large with 5 scoops. We got lemon ice, coffee gelato, chocolate chip, chocolate hazelnut and the chocolate fondue. Everything was delicious. But I think we were gelatoed out and the lemon ice was amazing ! Everything was good but the lemon stood out. It was just more refreshing as we walked Disney Paris all day then walked from metro to the stores. Then we met the store owner who was really sweet and we chatted for a bit and then said hey do you want something to go? I said no it's ok and then she said here have more lemon ice. My wife and I destroyed that as well. She was so sweet. She said it doesn't make you fat since it's just water and sugar and fresh lemon. I said yeah it will lol. I'd come back.

The ice cream itself was a bit sweet for me personally but was deliciously creamy and had a nice strong roasted pistachio flavor.
