The staff are friendly, the patron a mix of old timers, local college students and tourists. There's a fair amount of outdoor seating for smokers during warm weather. The inside is small, however they can open up additional area on busier evenings. We were there on a Sunday and they only had the area immediately in front of the bar open. Our group ordered burgers, the fish and chips, and pork belly tacos. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious. If we're to visit again, we'd order the sauce on the side for the tacos, but otherwise would reorder the same dishes with glee. I wish we took pics, but everything was devoured too quickly. It sticks in my mind because some girl decided that she didn't want to hang around with her mum any more, and wanted to hang around me, and the fact that my French is pretty bad didn't really disuade her. The atmosphere was electric and this is how live music should be. The Green Man is one of the best bars I have ever visited anywhere in Europe. Great staff, friendly customers and a welcome haven from all those awful themed bars and pubs that roll out those horrible plastic environments. If you are in Besancon check it out.
