Once you walk down the steps you come to a lovely restaurant with a courtyard that feels like you're in different village with fabulous views. Food: They have a three course menu to choose from which they change twice a season. We both chose the foie gras for our starter which was authentic and delicious. We both chose the pork loin which was prepared deliciously. For desserts we chose the fromage blanc and the chocolate trio. The fromage blanc was definitely better. The chocolate trio was very good, but rich. Drinks: We ordered one bottle of rosé. Price: 97 euros for two people. Ambiance: The evening was perfect. The outdoor seating underneath a tree with soft lighting was charming. It's simple and just what you think of when dining in Provence. Service: The service was friendly, warm and efficient. Everyone in the restaurant was super kind and helpful. Note: They don't take credit cards so make sure you have cash. If you're staying at the Hotel Crillon Le Brave they can add the bill to your room - all you have to do is sign and put your room number on the bill. Would I go back? Most definitely!

My husband and I stopped here for dinner at opening time and got to choose our own table, even though we didn't have a reservation, which was nice. We chose the €29 menu for 4 courses. It came with an amuse bouche of cream potato soup in a tiny glass, your typical amuse bouche and nothing special, though tasty. We started with the pan-fried foie gras and goat cheese salad. My salad was delicious: 5 chunks of goat cheese wrapped in a delicate parcel of phyllo dough perched around a mound of salad perfectly dressed. My husband was not so fortunate. He had 2 types of foie gras; one pan-fried and the other just plain. He'd expected the fried one to be crisp but it was sautéed in some type of sweet sauce and just not good. There was a sweet roll in the middle of the plate and the three components of the dish just didn't work together. I had the steak with cote du Rhone wine sauce and it was great; the sauce was excellent. My husband had the half duck breast and it was also great, but nothing spectacular. For the cheese course we went with a soft yogurt/cheese dish (fraisselle) topped with fruit sauce and sugar. We'd never had this but both really liked it. It was light and felt like a palate-cleanser before dessert. Now, dessert in a French restaurant is usually my favorite course. But this is where both our meals ended on a flat note. I had the chocolate moulleaux, usually a delicious chocolate cake with molten chocolate oozing out the center when you dig in. Unfortunately, this was very mediocre and my husband said it tasted like something you could buy from Sainsbury's. His dessert was raspberry mille feuille, which should be a delicate pastry with filling between layers and layers of phyllo dough. This was not delicate in the least and I was sad this was his first time eating what should be representative of French dessert; delicate yet rich, sweet but not overly sweet, and beautiful. The presentation was good and it was sweet, but the phyllo dough was hard and actually crunched loudly as he tried to dig his fork into it. Overall, it was a good meal but we both agreed it wasn't worth a repeat visit. I do have to mention the service was excellent and both servers who helped us were very friendly and spoke English when our limited French wasn't cutting it.

For the main course we ordered the scallops, the monkfish medallions and the peppered steak. All were served with mushroom risotto, the scallops were served with a delectable broccoli puree, the steak with mash. Still in awe at how delicious our meal was. Along with the Gigondas wine, the meal was beyond words. The service was excellent, our reservation was at 20:30 on a Tuesday evening (which we did have to change from 20:00 to 20:30, with a phone call this was no problem at all) and the restaurant was full. Following the main course we were offered the cheese tray then for dessert, two of us chose soufflé and the chocolate lava cake, which were all to die for. Three people ordered the five course meal, two bottles of wine for all and the total was $150, excellent value and absolutely exceptional food! For a full restaurant, the service was on par and very attentive. Fantastic restaurant, quiet location, Provençal food, delicious. Will be back! Thank you!
