One of my favourite cafes in the Holloway Road area, they offer the best coffee as well as some fantastic food. Get the almond croissants for breakfast, the egg tart as a snack and any of their sandwiches for lunch! Favourite is their brunch menu, though do come early if you want to get a seat as this cafe becomes extremely busy! Had the eggs florentine on my past visit and wasn't disappointed, and pretty good value as well. For those looking for food produce, they also sell various hams, cheeses and dried/jarred products, largely from France! Can't wait for summer, as they have a cute little garden area to sit in and enjoy the sun! read more

Gem of a cafe and deli in what I like (as a resident) to call 'up and coming' Lower Holloway. I'm addicted to their coffess, and my partner and I go here to drink lattes and read the paper most weekends. There's an excellent selection of cheeses for such a small shop, and products are rotated and updated regularly. Wine selection is also very good. It's Not Cheap, but it's not Pret a Manger either. It's become a bit of a victim of it popularity when it gets busy at weekends - with seating at a premium. But the new expanded garden outside has helped enormously. read more

The sun was out. The back patio was bustling. The toasted sandwiches were luscious and surprisingly low-cost. There was very little I could find fault with about Le Peche Mignon. That is, besides the quite young manageress who was taking her break, sat right next to me yapping away quite loudly and tiresomely about everything and nothing. Seriously, if you're going to eat with the patrons, shut your trap. If it hadn't been for her disrupting an otherwise beautiful and contemplative dejeuner and for her rather flippant response of 'The chef says eggs are finished' when my boyfriend tried to order les oeufs, this would have easily been a 5-star experience. read more

Le Peche Mignon is an adorable little French place in Highbury. The coffee at this place is notably good, and has improved over the times that I have been there. The baristas must be honing their techniques, as the consistency of the milk seems to have gotten much better. There is a selection of pastries, salads and sandwiches on offer if you are hungry. During the day it is quite acceptable to just go for a coffee, as long as it isn't too busy. The atmosphere is lovely, and the French that you can hear from the staff makes it an authentic experience. The music is good and the vibe is right. What more do I need to say? It is open 7 days a week and It is definitely worth a visit. read more

This is a great little place. They have eggscellent breakfasts, a cozy interior, and an œufsome outdoor space in the rear. Also, they make the best soy flat whites in the neighborhood. This lovely Highbury cafe is right around the corner from my new flat, so I've stopped in a few times for a lazy coffee and a pastry in the sun. It's a tiny place, and I've not yet gone there for a proper meal (although the food looks *lovely*), but I can attest to the fact that the nibbles / snacky bits are delicious...and the staff are absolutely wonderful. I've walked by seen it completely packed (1 small communal table) on rainy days when the garden isn't usable, so the tiny size is a bit of a downfall. Also - the coffee is good, but not great. Much better than costa, not as fantastic as nearby Vagabond N7. read more

The high quality counter stocks chorizo from Brindisa, teas from Kusmi, coffee from Monmouth, cheese from Neals Yard Dairy and Mons Fromager and La Fermiere yoghurts as well as natural and biodynamic wines from the leading wine importer Les Caves de Pyrene and beer from the superb London brewery The Kernel. Need I say more? The menu is reasonable and pretty extensive given the size of this place. There are sweet treats as well as savoury dishes with the best croissants I've had outside of France and other freshly baked pastries in the window along with their unbelievably good baguettes, which became ever present in our flat. read more

Went there for Sunday brunch at 11:30, got a table pretty easily but did call ahead to check first. I'm not sure i've salivated waiting for food as much as I have here. The smell is unreal and the food is really good. Love how simple the menu is. We had Eggs Royale and they were cooked perfectly. My mate had the Croque Monsieur and said it was the best ham, cheese, and bread he's ever tasted. Pretty cheap too compared to most places in London. Nothing over £9 Best coffee i've had outside of Monomouth. Call in advance to check how busy they are as its a small place. La Pêche is a tiny and cozy French café & deli/bakery with a fair selection of delicacies from all over the world (Nutty cheddar from England, organic polenta from Italy). Croque Monsier and Eggs Benedict/Royal are definitely my fav together with a fresh orange juice or a cappuccino (I don't recommend the soy one though). The place is not about a huge selection, a great service or huge tables rather than feeling at home without staying at home. Very nice hidden backyard for the good season. read more

Le Peche Mignon would be almost impossible to find without a recommendation - on a side street off Holloway Road. Though I've been told the lunch menu is unreal, I've only stopped so far for a coffee (update to follow!) which as lattes go, I have no complaints. The space itself is quite small, so I would recommend getting there early for either lunch or brunch and if you're in the mood to grab some groceries simultaneously - they have a small section of cheese, teas, meats, and fresh baked bread. Stumbled upon this little place a little while ago, and have to say its my favourite cafe in london. Fabulous monmouth coffee, get there early on a saturday and sit out in the back courtyard, their breakfast menu is simple but good and you can not leave without taking a little piece with you, namely one of their patisseries ! Staff are very friendly. It is very small and would have trouble accommodating big groups. You can also stock up on a fine range of gourmet foods, meats and cheeses whilst your there ! read more

I'm a big fan of this place. It's not cheap but that doesn't make me reject it. It actually offers good value for money. Everything is home made with (very) good ingredients. The staff are knowledgeable and really care about the food. Potato salad with capers and mackerel, amazing home made soups, vegetarian susage rolls with fresh pastry, fantastic home made pastries that melt in the mouth, salad nicoise baguettes. Pretentious and overpriced. The food is tasty and of a high quality but that doesn't hide the fact that the place itself is painfully middle class and suited best to 'yummy mummy' types chatting about their latest yoga classes. The coffee is good but because the place is extremely tiny you always seem to get stuck on a table with total strangers, bumping arms and elbows with them. Overall, yes the food and coffee are delicious but the conceited atmosphere, the lack of space and the awful disco music constantly being played doesn't make me want to come back. read more
