The store is a craft and clothing boutique. It's much more than that. Everything there is a one-of-a-kind unique item that local crafters have created. I loved browsing through the entire store and there were so many hidden gems. I was originally trying to find something for my friends twin daughters. I got a little bit overwhelmed with all the cute things that they have. I must say I want to buying a pair of airings for myself. I had to say to bring my girlfriend over and just ask her very point-blank "what adorable items do you want for your twins because they're all just too cute." You are not allowed to take pictures in the store. The reason is simple, all the items are one-of-a-kind handcrafted gifts. She had a bad experience with one time she was at a tradeshow and somebody took pictures of her items. The next thing she knew she was browsing in a high-end catalog for jewelry and she found her pieces replicated. That is devastating to a crafter who takes pride in their products and did not get a single penny for it. I can respect that. She still has awesome things. Will definitely go back.

But what is interesting is they also have T- shirts and sweat shirts that have the names of different resorts on them such as Hawaii, Florida, California, the Caribbean Islands and so on. Instead of offering to order me a size that fit me properly, I was persuaded to purchase a size up that did not fit correctly and was recommended to get it altered, which I now regret. I was told by the sales representative that I would receive store credit if I decided to bring the item back. This was one of the main reasons I decided to purchase the item. Unfortunately the tailor was not able to adjust the item to fit my size. When I brought the item back to the store with the tags and receipt, the owner immediately accused me of wearing the item and deceitfully reattaching the tags. The store owner continued to berate me and spoke to me in an extremely condescending manner, then told me that I was not "thinking logically" in my attempt to return an item that did not fit me. She insisted that I was not taking into consideration how her business was going to be impacted if she were to let me give back the item and provide me with store credit, which should be of no concern to the customer rightfully returning a purchased item. The most hurtful part of this incident occurred when the store owner spewed lies at me: she stated that there are signs all over the store explaining that items cannot be brought back after 2 weeks. However, when I requested that she point to one of these signs, she was unable to, as they did not exist. The store owner's actions made it exceptionally clear to me that her only concern is running a business, that she has no consideration for her customers, and no care for their satisfaction with her products. The owner gave me no rational reason why she couldn't take back the item, she did not offer store credit, or even a kind word. I enjoy shopping but I would never go back here after the way I was treated. I hope my experience isn't indicative of how the owner treats other customers.

Santa has selective hearing, he only heard Dog Tag. No, he actually heard David and Tiffany, but wanted me to have something special and unique. So he searched the web and found PCD and I'm glad that he did. PCD is a creative and innovative designer working in Platinum, 24 & 18K yellow gold, 18k white gold, 18k pink gold and my favorite sterling silver. My first Christmas, I did get my dog tag along with a very detailed Koi Fish. A Koi Fish in Japanese is for good luck. I had to have that one explained to me, because I wondered why I was getting a fish. Once I understood, it was cool and thoughtful that someone one would give me "good luck" to have around my neck at all times. These are small charms attached to a ring on a rawhide necklace. The second year, we sent my necklace back and had them add a small dog bone. You can see, I have a theme going on to match my nickname of "sheltie dad". Then this third year, he started a new necklace with a disc imprinted with a paw print and a wishbone signifying luck dog. I totally enjoy both of my PCD necklaces, and just the other day I meet someone visiting the area wearing a PCD Koi fish. When I commented on hers' she was amazed someone in STL knew about PCD. She was even more surprised when I showed her all of my charms. PCD has amazing bracelets and rings as well and I now have my eyes set on a ring. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they soon find a jeweler here in STL to carry their product. In the meantime, we'll continue to order from their catalog and over the phone. Their customer service is great and they deliver what they promise. Brian Williams, Bon Jovi and Lady Antebellum are all big fans of Poor Cat Designs and so am I.
