A great restaurant with the best beef bourgignon we had in Paris. We came here twice in one week…read morejust to have it. We liked the shrimp tempura appetizer. The truffle fries were a bit off though. Mozzarella sticks were standard. On a nice night, we sat outside and enjoyed watching people pass. Our waiter was a young American man, born in France, and he was very attentive. We came back for breakfast on our last day and enjoyed the eggs, croissant, juice and coffee. A really nice place in Rue Cler.

Unfortunately, what started as a happy afternoon became a very uncomfortable experience. When my husband asked for Sauvignon Blanc, our waitress repeatedly told him it was a very bad wine. He asked for her recommendation and ordered the wine she suggested. When I ordered a club sandwich, she made a disapproving sound. My husband wasn't hungry and only wanted a drink, but her reactions made us feel judged for our choices. What upset me most was how she served my food: she threw the plate down on our table without even looking at us. Shortly afterward, I saw a mouse walking toward our table. We decided to leave and asked for the bill and my food to go. Another staff member came over, apologized for not speaking much English, and asked whether we were leaving because of his colleague. Our original waitress never returned. To add to the disappointment, the takeout box was falling apart and held together with tape because it wouldn't close properly. We ended up eating in a park near the Eiffel Tower. I have never written a negative review before, but this experience was upsetting. Sharing a meal should be an enjoyable moment, and having food served with care and being treated with basic respect should be the minimum.

I would recommend this place! I tried their croque monsieur…read moreand Ube latte and was not disappointed. The croque monsieur had a generous pile of gruyère melted on the sides of the bread with a proportional amount of meat and filling on the inside. With the croque monsieur warmed up, it made a perfect brunch meal with the ube latte. The ube latte is exactly what you would expect but crafted carefully. I would just go back for this delightfully warm concoction in the morning. The service to go along with this made this experience more pleasant as it seems most of the employees were filipinos. They were quick to receive you and leave you beyond satisfied. The shop exudes the classic parisian aesthetic that most people would romanticize and I am glad I experienced it. I would come back for the pleasant experience - try out Merci Jérôme!

We kept seeing people walking around with baguettes but couldn't seem to find where they were…read morecoming from until we finally found this place walking around the area of the Eiffel Tower. We walked in and they were busy because their card machine was down. We looked over the pastry options and then their system came back up. We ordered a baguette, a croissant and a small box of macaroons. Both the croissant and the baguette were amazing. The macaroons were stale and gross. I was surprised but then I saw the same ones at the airport and realized it a third party. They must have been sitting there for a while. Sad because I really was expecting great macaroons in Paris. Otherwise, I would get a baguette again any day!
