Visiting Le Montmartre is almost as good as being back in Paris. This is a sweet little sandwich shop on Fleet Street. There's lovely French music on the radio and lovely French boys behind the counter. The menu includes several different sandwiches (my favourite is the Le Nature--lettuce, tomato, sweetcorn, eggs and honey mustard) and a soup of the day. In the window are homemade pastries and desserts that all look amazing, but I never make it past the strawberry tart. Delish! Sandwiches around around £3.40 each and you can add on crisps or bread to go with it. The lines always move fast and the food is always great. Make that lunch to go because there is no seating available! read more

Quite acceptable cafe/takeout; good croissants and pastry. Be aware that as a business, they're much more geared to outside catering , so it's not a sit-and-linger sort of a place ( in fact, barring one table in the front window as a sort of window dressing, there is no place to sit). Don't anticipate, either, that they necessarily have everything on the menu; appear at 2 pm , and you're not likely to snag an eclair , but c'est la vie. read more

Getting a really good croissant in London is more difficult than you'd think. OK, there's Paul and Le Pain Quotidien (both also operate in France, so they can't be that bad) but I've always found the croissants a bit dry - and let's not even discuss the dusty abominations found in the majority of coffee shops. A real croissant should be moist on the inside, with flaky whispers of pastry coiled round the outside. Nothing else comes close. So I am delighted that this place exists, because you can get proper croissants here. It's a charming little place tucked away in the heart of legal London, next to a shop selling robes and wigs to barristers. It's run by some French boys who stand outside at lunchtime offering free samples of the sandwiches to lucky passers-by. The croissants are perfection. There's a breakfast deal. The pain au chocolat oozes warm, melty chocolate. The counter's lined with Carambar and Bonne Maman miniatures. One of the French boys is dreamy. What's not to like? read more

Stopped in here one day to get a croissant and now I'm addicted! The buttery goodness and flaky pastry are everything you hope to find in a croissant. Plus they warm it up for you! Nom nom. I've also bought their fresh baguettes a few times. It's so hard not to eat the whole thing on the way home. The sandwiches are made on their baguettes and have fresh ingredients. The cost is on par with other lunch time places in the area and I know that I will always get quality and freshness when I come here. read more

Lovely little French place to grab lunch (no place to sit, only takeaway) when out and about in the City. You feel transported to a back street in Paris when you step in, with their French music on the background and the staff speaking in French among them, it is very charming. It has a lovely selection of large baguettes with fillings to choose from, ranging from £3.40 to £4.20. My favourites are Le Nature (egg, lettuce, tomato, cream cheese) and L'Italien (mozzarella, tomato, pesto, olive oil, black olives... sooo yummy!). Plus they make their bread themselves, and you can tell! They also make most of the sweet things in the store, which are all lovely. I think the only ones that they don't do in-house are the muffins (which are delicious too) Definitely worth a try if you are in the area (of if you aren't! I normally have to walk for a while from where I am to get there but the thought of their baguettes direct me unconsciously ;) read more

This little French shop is only good for grab a quick French crepes for snack or lunch. They have both savory and sweet one. Taste good. Unlike the posted pics by others, Dessert choices r limited though from what I can see from the shop. read more

Le Montmartre is a little french bakery in fleet Street. The atmosphere is very Parisian, with French music and great quality baguettes. The best one is le fermier, with chicken and Dijon mustard, and my favourite crepe is the one with Nutella and banana. I usually walk from Saint Paul (1/2 mile) to get there at lunch time, but never regretted it! read more

This is a very nice bakery in the heart of the City. They offer delightful sweet and savoury crepes especially the " Complete" made with ham, cheese and eggs. They also sell products such as ; Vanilla slice but with the original French receipe: some chocolate cream, apple tart, and chocolate eclair. I felt a very french atmosphere : french staff and typical french music inside the shop. It was like speanding a short moment in Paris. read more
