Nice outdoor seating right in the heart of the old village of Annecy - a great place to watch passerby. This place seems to be very popular - any night in Annecy you'll find a large crowd here both inside and outside. The inside continues on much further than one might expect. The walls are lined with bottles of liquor - they do boast over 300 different types of whiskey. You must ask for a separate menu to see the whiskeys - they are ridiculously overpriced even for Europe, though. The beer cocktails were lovely at 5 euros a piece - I tried the one with warsteiner, orange liqueur, and picon and was definitely not disappointed. There's another one with white wine that's quite good as well. Pizzas - absolutely terrible. Too thin - so thin that they burned the edges - all of them. The tomatoes on my Margherita pizza were undercooked. There's also a Flammekeuche which is apparently a specialty from Alsace - also very thin crust, nearly the same as the other pizzas in terms of being burnt at the perimeter. The onion and combination was interesting, though. Ordered some fries to get out the taste of the terrible pizzas and those were in large portion and pretty great. Would come here just for the ambiance and the beer cocktails, but be careful about how much you're paying for what. Service is nice but very difficult to get a hold of to pay and such. There's an extra charge for using credit cards due to the exchange rate so try to use cash if you can.

A shared pizza and fish and chips. Both came to €30.40.

My wife had the mussels and each one was either tiny (yes a fingertip at most) or wasn't open. I had the perche and it was a fraction of the size from the past without much flavor. We asked the server if the restaurant had changed and he said the owner had changed within the last year. Avoid this place if you liked it in the past!

TIP: It's closed Sunday and Monday…read more Due to Yelp reviews being positive, we wanted to come here and finally was able. The service is friendly. The ambience rustic, down home, pub-ish (good cool vibe). Lots of seating, both indoor and outdoors. They have two outdoor seating areas ... the back with the 'river' view and the front is on the promenade (fun for people watching). The food was very tasty. Salmon Tartar: This was more for American' tastebuds ... mango and mango puree, generous chunks of avocado and fresh grapefruit segments. Very California. Delicious and light. Came with fries, which were a little under seasoned and cold (that was the case for all the fries we ordered as I think they make them in big batches as it's the typical accompaniment for most entrees). ESTA burger: Super flavorful, never thought of pairing it with tartar sauce. Must like tartar sauce, but if you do, YUM! The bun was toasted to perfection and held up nicely to the juice patty. Fresh green lettuce gave it the freshness and crisp too. Mussels with bacon and beer: That broth .... yum! You'd want to drink it; they give you a spoon so they know you want to drink it too. Dunk the bread into it to soak up the yummy salty, briny, addicting goodness. The mussels were plump and fresh too. Forgot the name, but its a sausage with cheese (raclette?) casserole. Salty, meaty, hearty, rich and filling. Order a side salad to cut the richness. It was very good, but I wouldn't be able to eat all of it due to how filling and cheesy it is. Good place, glad we came. Pix to come!
