As a fellow burger enthusiast WOOOOOOW! This burger was finger licking good! I had to EMPHASIS to…read morethe waiter I don't do anything but WELL WELL WELL DONE! NothiNg like being overseas and having to go to the hospital! AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT! The place is by the old port tucked away on a quiet side street with other rather unique dining options. It's very strangely built with that Amsterdam esk spiral staircase to the bathroom upstairs that if you fall your DEFINITELY going to the hospital because you for sure broke something AND it has NO rails. Cuidado Por favor!!! My French is SO rusty, speaking French is like stepping on a rusty nail, YIKKKKES! So we tried to use google translate and my Spanish kind of helped with a tiny bit of translation as you could guess some of the ingredients but we just went with the first burger on the menu which seemed the most basic! The cheese on the burger over flowed like a beautiful water fall and it was enough to dip in half the potatoes! Wow that cheese was good! The burger was surprisingly NOT DRY even tho I asked for it well done. It just was a really good filling burger! It was PACKED when we went and PACKED when we left. And most people were French because of us ease dropping on others conversations so I think it's safe to say that it may be a local hangout. Anywho, just try it!!

Good American-style burger. Flavorful, fresh produce. I do not recommend the cheddar sauce, which…read morehad weak flavor and was messy. They served home fries rather than French fries/pommes frites which seems incongruous since this is France and it's a burger place. But they were delicious--perfectly cooked golden potatoes. The side of Cole slaw did not look like much but it tasted good. Obviously fresh cabbage with a bit of red onion and red pepper, very light vinegar flavor, almost like it was flash pickled. Nice counterpoint. Nice outdoor seating on a side street just off the vieux port.

This place isn't one of those touristy places where they serve you bad food. They take their food quality really seriously here. You can tell based off of what you get. The wait staff is pretty nice although service is really slow. I suppose it is not the American way where they push you out. Instead, they take your time so you can enjoy your food. For parents of little ones though, I would have appreciated some more expediency. The food was sooooo good. They serve typical Provincal food. We got their seafood platter. The freshly made garlic mayo complimented the food perfectly. I also got the shrimp and rice. This was yummy but not as good as the seafood platter. The next day we got grilled octopus with rice. The octopus was perfectly grilled. For high quality food, the price point isn't too bad. I think it is on the more affordable end.

There was also a live pianist playing American standards. We got some fantastic cocktails, the "clover club" and "from Trinidad." We also sat at the bar and ordered apps. I speak a little bit of French and the servers were patient with us which I appreciate.

Thanks to Yelp, I was able to find a local sandwich shop about two blocks away. I quickly trotted over to the street and climbed the 60 or so steps to reach the street where it was located. This little yet charming restaurant had a line of about 10 customers deep. I got in line and was anxiously waiting to see what my options were inside. Once inside the team of three was bustling about to make sure all the customers were being helped. What stood out to me right away was the Focaccia. It was impressive to see and looked amazingly delicious. It was like a siren, calling to me even though I do not usually eat cheese. The pastrami sandwich also looked good as well. I would have not partaken in consuming it but considering how horrible our experience was with the brasserie on the Vieux Port, I decided on getting that sandwich as a backup for my two accompanying diners. I asked for my order to go and paid. I carried my load of sandwiches like a soccer player who won the World Cup, proud and triumphant. The service was incredible, the flavors were all present, and the prices were affordable. I highly recommend this sandwich shop and skip all brasseries on the Vieux Port.

Our light lunch of the cheese plate and salad delivered. The cheese was rich and delicious with the truffle brie a highlight of my cheese adventures in France. On that note, we stumbled into this restaurant after being rejected by a couple others in the neighborhood that would not sit us because they were closing for the night. Perfectly understandable because I too would want to go home after a long day and not have to deal with another bloody tourist and his finicky girlfriend that wants lemon and filtered ice in her water.... I liked this restaurant from the outset, it is well lit and you get the feeling you are dining in a former warehouse or something with its deep set, painted over brick walls. The Mussels and frites and the Le pectroas with frites were superb. And so was the service. Even though we didn't speak the language the server was patient and assisted where he could in his broken English. We made it work and had a great relaxing meal.
