The classic cheeseburger was absolutely delicious but the service couldn't be worse!!! Had to hunt down an employee for every little request. At one point I got up myself to the waitress stand to retrieve my own ketchup! read more

Absolutely phenomenal, amazing, delicious, and creative meal…read more Pros: -The food was very, very good. We ordered the big meals that come on the butcher blocks "Les Grillades." I got the beef fillet and it was extremely tender and perfectly cooked. I ordered it with the optional sauce and it made all the difference (my mouth is watering thinking about it). -The side dishes that came with my beef fillet are what really sets it apart. At first, the plate looked random. A random tomato, a random onion. Random things. But, they were cooked in a unique way- almost candied. Somehow, it all worked really well with the steak, sauce, and other sides. -They do have an English menu Cons: -Service was just ok. He said he didn't speak English, which was perfectly fine by us. We can get by with French and Google Translate. However, half-way through the dinner he starts speaking English. I just got the impression they like to bust the tourists' balls. -It's very cramped in there and seating is limited. Get a reservation.

The bruschetta was excellent, the aubergine on top well-seasoned, the bread itself crisp. NothiNg like being overseas and having to go to the hospital! AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT! The place is by the old port tucked away on a quiet side street with other rather unique dining options. It's very strangely built with that Amsterdam esk spiral staircase to the bathroom upstairs that if you fall your DEFINITELY going to the hospital because you for sure broke something AND it has NO rails. Cuidado Por favor!!! My French is SO rusty, speaking French is like stepping on a rusty nail, YIKKKKES! So we tried to use google translate and my Spanish kind of helped with a tiny bit of translation as you could guess some of the ingredients but we just went with the first burger on the menu which seemed the most basic! The cheese on the burger over flowed like a beautiful water fall and it was enough to dip in half the potatoes! Wow that cheese was good! The burger was surprisingly NOT DRY even tho I asked for it well done. It just was a really good filling burger! It was PACKED when we went and PACKED when we left. And most people were French because of us ease dropping on others conversations so I think it's safe to say that it may be a local hangout. Anywho, just try it!!

They served home fries rather than French fries/pommes frites which seems incongruous since this is France and it's a burger place. But they were delicious--perfectly cooked golden potatoes. Nice counterpoint. Nice outdoor seating on a side street just off the vieux port.

The service is super friendly and lovely. The food is marvellous. They have a seafood platter which they recommend for two people but we ordered one amongst four of us and it was plenty - and it was absolutely delicious! It comes with various sauces but I hardly tried the dipping sauces as the seafood was crunchy and delicious by itself. We then tried 4 different kinds of fishes - which were super fresh and grilled to perfection. I tried the chocolate cake for dessert and it was perfect and my friends tried the fig dessert which was great too! It may seem a little pricey but if you compare with the portions and the quality of the food - I say, its worth it. We made a reservation for a saturday evening but it was fairly empty so I'm guessing you could walk in as well. Definitely going back when I can!

What I really liked about this place is they served socca! Believe it or not, it was not as easy to come by in Vieux Nice as I had hoped. Most of the places that served it were akin to pop-up shops (i.e. no seating), and even those had incredibly long lines. My girlfriend and I were looking to sit down for lunch and try some socca (without having to wait over an hour), but that proved to be a much more difficult task than originally anticipated. Le Clocher to the rescue! The socca was very good as well, but then again I am biased because I tend to love chickpea derivations like falafel! Still, it was a cool spot, and I wasn't disappointed with anything whatsoever! Happily, Clayton Cohn
