The description of pizza sounded refreshing, as I was a bit tired of French cuisine at this point in my trip. I don't think a description of pizza does Le Monge justice, as the restaurant is much nicer than simply pizza, and they have lots of other options to try as well (including traditional French). For dinner I selected a small side salad and the campagna pizza which was delicious! It was larger than a lot of the portions I had seen in France before, and certainly large enough to share between two people. It had several kinds of cheese along with prosciutto. The combination of cheeses makes the pizza quite rich and creamy. My husband had the menu selection (which came with an appetizer of 6 escargot, beef bourguignon, and fruits for dessert). He enjoyed his selection as well. I would definitely stop in Le Monge for a meal and expect friendly servers, quick service and great food.

The service was very friendly and, even though there was a slight language barrier (he spoke "some" English and we spoke "some" French), he was very patient and we had fun with it. The bread basket he brought to the table was amazing. All of the food we ordered was savory and fresh, so delicious! Not the best pizza I've ever had, but certainly decent. I wish the egg on top of my pizza was runny, it seemed a bit overcooked. My friend said she actually enjoyed the pizza here than a lot of the pizza she has had in Italy! The service was a bit on the slower side, but that seems consistent for the area. Once you get the check, you can go ahead to the counter and pay the bill.
