Loved the steak frites, tarte tatin, and cheese plate. Friendly service, as well, and the ambience in the area is nice for sitting outside.

Absolutely the best hamburger I have ever eaten. Great service, very attentive waiter. Highly recommend. Worth the trip to Aix-en-Provence.

The best aspect of this place is the location - conveniently situated on the cours mirabeau. At the same time, that makes it touristy and the prices to be slightly inflated. However, the decor is gorgeous, service is very friendly (even to an american standard). Food is decent as well. The rose is good and always a good choice in Provence. My salad entree was fresh and for the main course, the fish was just okay but the vegetables were very flavorful. Dessert was meh - mousse au chocolat was too dense and cold, but probably just because it was in the fridge. There are 3 seating areas - outside, inside first floor (RDC) and the second floor (or first floor in France). I ate with a large group so we were seating on the second floor - super gorgeous, although I can see how the terrace would be a great place to people watch.

Lovely outdoor patio and good ambiance. The house aperitif and the crème brûlée was very good.

They were able to seat us immediately without a reservation so that was nice at least. Everything else was rather downhill. The service was subpar--with the waiter wearing a name tag saying that he spoke English, although he only spoke a few words. It's completely okay if a server can't speak English, but the tag was confusing and shouldn't be in place if it isn't true. They let the dirty plates, glasses, and cutlery pile up at our table. The Burger Gourmand that I ordered was nothing to write home about. It was cooked incorrectly (I ordered medium or à point and it came out brown all the way through), and the lettuce and tomato included were limp. The dishes were all fairly expensive, without warranting the hiked-up price. Additionally, a really awful smell swept through the restaurant for seemingly no reason from the kitchen halfway through the meal. There were so many gnats flying around too and it was very irritating. Would not return, unless absolutely necessary.

I decided to do the menu with an apetizer and and entree. The appetizer I chose was the carpacio of gilt head bream. It was ok, but too many pine nuts and pepper. On the other side, I didnt understand the side roquefort butter. As the second dish I chose the plat du jour, a stuffed lamb with mushrooms and a side of polenta with mushrooms. I guess they had mushrooms to get rid off. The lamb was over cooked. The polenta was as dull as all the polentas I generally eat out. And to finish I had a good coffee.
