Not awful, but definitely not good either. Three of us ducked into Léopold's around 8pm on a…read moreSaturday without a reservation to get out of the rain. They were able to seat us immediately without a reservation so that was nice at least. Everything else was rather downhill. The service was subpar--with the waiter wearing a name tag saying that he spoke English, although he only spoke a few words. It's completely okay if a server can't speak English, but the tag was confusing and shouldn't be in place if it isn't true. They let the dirty plates, glasses, and cutlery pile up at our table. The Burger Gourmand that I ordered was nothing to write home about. It was cooked incorrectly (I ordered medium or à point and it came out brown all the way through), and the lettuce and tomato included were limp. The dishes were all fairly expensive, without warranting the hiked-up price. I decided to do the menu with an apetizer and and entree. The appetizer I chose was the carpacio of gilt head bream. It was ok, but too many pine nuts and pepper. On the other side, I didnt understand the side roquefort butter. As the second dish I chose the plat du jour, a stuffed lamb with mushrooms and a side of polenta with mushrooms. I guess they had mushrooms to get rid off. The lamb was over cooked. The polenta was as dull as all the polentas I generally eat out. And to finish I had a good coffee.
