Thus, I ordered a green salad (not on the menu) and a creme brulee. My green salad came with my bf's appetizer, which is a homemade parsley ham, that tastes more like a pate. I had a taste if it and it almost made me hate my green leaves with white dressing on it. I couldn't hate it though cuz although the ham was extremely delicious, my salad wasn't actually bad at all. "it's okay," I thought to myself, "there's no way that weird poached egg thing he ordered will be delicious." And I was wrong. 3 poached eggs with wine sauce on a bed of garlic croutons was incredibly good that even though i hate egg yolk, i still dipped bread into his wine sauce while he eyed me with disgruntleness. "ORDER YOUR OWN FOOD!" But when my dessert came, it was his turn to be jealous. Although he said his two cheese dessert was good, it was nothing compared to my creme brulee. My Creme Brulee did not come in a ceramic baking bowl, but the custard it was a round pudding like shape on top of this amazing tasting cake that is drenched with a coffee syrup. There are these crunchy sweet sprinkles all over the dessert, making every bite just a little bit more heavenly. His three dish set lunch was only 21 euros and my salad and my creme brulee came out to be about 11. The creme brulee at 7 euros is a bit steep, but it was totally worth it. Ambiance-wise, the restaurant is a typical place in Beaune with a beautiful sunny patio. The service was slow, but that's expected. LOOOOVED it!

Good food, excellent wine, nice terrace, good but slow service and bad coffee…read more The food is very good, however not spectaculair, but worth its price (3 course menu 23,50). The starter (aspergesoup) and dessert (brownie) were better than te main (lam). The wines are great, but more expensive (around 7 euros per glas). The waitress was very nice, however with two people serving the whole restaurant you wait quite long. Coffee is bad and wayyyy overpriced: 4,5 for a machine-made cappuccino! Overall, a good restaurant when you are not in a hurry, just dont' order coffee :)

One of our best meals in Lyon, even President Marcon dined here on the same night we were there…read more Its upscale, especially if you eat indoors. Lots of suits and well dressed people (dresses, jackets and slacks, etc). We had come after the Women's World Cup so was a tad under dressed, but they were polite and kind and said it was ok to dine there. PLAT: A few got the salad lyonnaise. The lardons are huge, it's a meal in and of itself. The croutons are crispy and butter nuggets of delicious carb. The poached egg is done to perfection. The lettuce is frisse so it delicate. They have a plat and entree size, and the plat was generous (it was a deep bowl!) The burrata came with ratatouille, which was also generous in portion. It's very rich, oh so creamy and cool and tasty. The ratatouille had a nice deep rich tomato base and the vegetables (in cubes vs circular slices) had a nice structure to hold up well to the creamy cheese. Also shareable. Last plat was the foie grais pate. That crust is so buttery, flakey and delicious. The pate was equally good. It came with cornichons and salad on the side. This was sharable too, but I didn't ;) ENTREE: The star entree was the poulet (chicken) stew. It's 100% comfort food that you can't stop eating until everything is gone. In addition to chicken, there were carrots and potatoes. The beef tartare was wonderful, rich, robust, little bit of heat (I think tabasco?). It was also a generous amount. It came with sliced potatoes. The steak and potatoes came with a rich, brown sauce to drizzle over the steak. So, so, so good. Between the chicken stew sauce/gravy and the brown sauce, there were so many delicious flavors around. Last entree was the sweetbreads, so tender, perfectly prepared, very delicate. MUST SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT. If you are a chocolate lover, the chocolate financier (cake) was so rich (think ganache) but not overly sweet. Chocolate lovers will be transported. As it was during a blistering heatwave through parts of Europe, I went with the meringue. Light, airy, crispy with the sweetest strawberries and raspberries. I'm not the biggest fans of raspberries but these seem to have sugar filled in the center (it didn't, but that sweetness was so perfect). then there is the marshmellow/praline/ice cream dish, which I have no clue what the name is. We saw it coming out of the kitchen and knew we had to have it. GET IT, again, this is if you want something other than chocolate. If you love chocolate and can enjoy a rich dessert after a spectacular meal, the chocolate cake is out of this world. the one thing is that the menu only has the plat/entree. For drinks/dessert, the waiter reads it off to you from memory. The challenge with this is you don't know the prices until the bill comes.

The service was lovely, the large banquet style room was beautiful and the food was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic meal in Lyon, you will not be disappointed.
