Finally, some decent poutine! I've tried it 2 or 3 times elsewhere and have always been…read moreunimpressed. Soggy french fries drowning in a mess of metallic-tasting gravy and cheesy bits that don't seem to belong. Not here. These were pretty good. Thick-cut steak fries with a crust prevented any sogginess. As did the gravy: a proper amount so it didn't resemble french fry soup. Perhaps not made from scratch but at least from a decent stock base so it had actual flavor, wasn't pasty-thick from flour, and the quantity was reasonable. The cheese curds had very little flavor of their own but I liked their texture: just slightly chewy and beginning to melt from the heat but not completely. Overall the dish was rather salty, much of which came from the smoked meat add-on. (Montreal) smoked meat is similar to what is called pastrami or corned beef in the USA. It was in the form of cut-up squares of deli slices liberally sprinkled on top. I think I'd prefer small diced cubes, the size and shape of bagged frozen carrots. Interesting, though I think I'd try one of their many other add-ons next time. I'd probably be bored with plain poutine. The best poutine anywhere? I'm still too new to this dish to say for sure. Probably not the best but good, fun to eat, and filling. I think we shared a small and it was enough for both of us for a light lunch. We also had coffee which was above average and came with free refills. Being a nice day we sat outside in the sidewalk dining area and watched the activity on the Bedford main street. There is table service outside but you go in to pay. Our waitress was great, spoke pretty good English, and helped me connect my phone to their wifi. Inside looked nice too. There was a main cafe area and a back room filled with pool tables, foosball, dartboards, and the like. It's mostly a breakfast and brunch place. There are many standard breakfast items but I'm more intrigued by the breakfast poutine and crepes. The desserts looked great too but I didn't try any. Definitely worth a visit. I'd try it again for sure.

Stopped here to walk the shops and warm up on our trip home from Canada. My phone was dead so no…read morephotos :( We dined in for a hot latte, served in a large homey mug with delicate art on top.

Order at the counter, take a table number and food will be delivered. Several spots to eat but we chose the greenhouse and it gave you the picnic feel! After lunch, we wandered the shop, and found so many treats to take home. We found this on accident and we hope you stop in if you are traveling through !!! It will be a joy to visit - and the barista is amazing! The food was fresh, large portions, and delicious.

I wasn't impressed with the food, but the overall experience adds another star. It's a cafe,…read moregourmet grocery, flower shop, greenhouse and artisans boutique all under one roof. The cafe menu is limited mostly to sandwiches, quiches, salads, and breakfast pastries. I got the Jambon Bio: ham, cheddar, mesclun greens and dijon on a baguette. The amount of ham was really pitiful, I think 2 slices. The greens were boring, only lettuce. We did like the dijon mustard. The baguette was overwhelming for the amount of filling and not the tastiest. Rather disappointing and I thought pretty expensive at $17 Canadian. But it came with soup and salad (no way to order just the sandwich). We liked the soup though, a pureed squash with apple, assertively peppered. Salad? Lol no it was 3 cucumber slices each with a 1/2 cherry tomato on top! In retrospect I should have got one of the hot sandwiches, such as the Croque Monsieur, which looked good on another diner's plate. I liked the selection of soft drinks, and found an interesting fruity soda from a local company. While waiting for our food (order at the counter and they deliver it to the table) and after finishing we perused the grocery. An amazing assortment of gourmet items. I bought two hot sauces that I can't wait to try (didn't get the one made from ants though!) and some tinned smoked fish. Many of the items seemed insanely expensive though. The beer selection was truly impressive; wish I liked beer. Then on to the greenhouse. An amazing variety of plants of all kinds: cactus, ferns, carnivorous, much more. We just looked because we couldn't take them back to the USA, but some were hard to resist.
