I think the waiter may have been new, as there were very long pauses in service which was unusual given that the restaurant was not very crowded, but he was so lovely we didn't really mind. The food was alright, though not outstanding. Unfortunately, the menu we saw from the sidewalk was not the same as the menu they were serving, so we ended up ordering burgers (le French cheese), which we weren't expecting to do. They were fine but strange. We requested them à point (rare/medium rare) and they were served closer to medium well, albeit still juicy. The meat itself was good, but the cheese (though described as cheddar) was too close to American for my taste. I thought I'd love the herb mayo, but it was strangely thick and disproportionately herb-y (something I never thought I'd say!). We also ordered a burritina appetizer, and didn't love the sauce it was served with. On a positive note, our desserts were quite good! The cassis ice cream was tart and creamy, and the moelleux was very yummy--like a molten flourless chocolate cake with unexpected fruity notes in the molten center. For those with nut allergies, note that the ice cream on that dessert is unexpectedly topped with nuts!
