I'll keep it short. Everything was awesome, including the staff (who seem to be the owners), and the people coming in. This is obviously a place that attracts repeat customers, and I felt a very strong neighborhood-favorite-place vibe. This was my first visit, won't be my last. It felt soooo comfortable, and the sandwiches (a Le Frigo, a Le Frigo Royal, and a ham and cheese croissant).... well, everyone loved without exception. I haven't felt this cheered up in a retail space in a long time. The woman in front of me in line was from Germany, and was in with her kids and her ageing grandparent, and was also entranced. The place is owned by a French gent and the main business is selling French cheeses and groceries. Many great selections of cheese and other assorted French grocery that can not be easily found in the states. The service was also great. I chatted with the host and he was happy and proud to chat about the store, its history and what they provided. Just a really great local French grocery that gives us a much better sandwich. Totally unexpected surprise! We went in for a quick bite based on the reviews and were surprised to see that the place was chocked full of European products. Ordered two sandwiches to go and they were amazingly fresh and so delicious. This is a must-try place! The only caution is there are only two small tables - one inside and one outside. This deli is super close to my work so I went in one day to see how it was, and it's absolutely adorable! I particularly like that they have multiple items that they locally source, things that I would have normally had to go to the farmers market for! We have hit a really sweet spot with Le Frigo. My son could eat their ham on a buttered baguette with cornichons every day. If you come when they're busy there's no logic to what they're doing. I've seen ten people order after me and get their food before me. They quote me 20 minutes when I got into the store and it took almost an hour to get my food. It's a big waste of time and disrespectful to people that need an accurate time estimate. Food may be good, but the service makes it not worth it. I've seen people wait 5-10 minutes to even order. I understand being short staffed, but at least make it known that wait times are not accurate and it will take some time even place an order. So you want a sandwich and you're in east Boulder? Right by the Ozo on Arapahoe? And you see that big ol' Snarf's and you think well, maybe that's where I ought to go? Nope. Nothing against Snarf's but walk about 30 feet farther and you are at Le Frigo. You won't regret this. They have a gorgeous selection of charcuterie, a cheese cave full of stinky cheeses, and a fun array of gourmet snacks and accompaniments. But you're after a sandwich, so let's stay focused. If it's summer, you want the Palisade: grilled peaches, goat cheese, arugula, prosciutto and a balsamic drizzle on a good pretzel roll. Or if you're from Louisiana like my husband, you might try their version of a muffaletta, which they call the New Orleans: olive salad atop mortadella, salami and provolone, served on a baguette. You can't really go wrong, and you will be treating yourself to a sandwich that is a cut above. And, it's important to note, you aren't actually paying more for these quality ingredients and carefully prepared delicacies. If you're thirsty they have San Pelligrino sodas and waters. What a cute little store! The owners/employees were so friendly and my sandwich, Le Holiday, was absolutely delicious! I have an obsession with pretzel sandwiches but I am often disappointed because the pretzel rolls don't usually taste like actual soft pretzels. Le Frigo's pretzel rolls on the other hand taste exactly like the most heavenly soft pretzels ever! They taste authentic and fresh with the perfect amount of salt.
