    Chicken Patties
    Deedee M.

DO NOT EAT THEM IN THE CAR unless your car is already dirty.. That flaking of the crust ain't no joke! I've had Patties from here maybe a decade ago before I moved away. & they were so good. So when I was in town I said I wanted to try this place but the lines are always intimidating. Butttt that also may indicate that I need to suck it up and go get me some So finally I came on a Thursday morning early, maybe 3 people in line in front of me. (Not sure if you can do catering orders at the same window you order food, but one person was at the window for almost 20 minutes and I wanted to leave) I ended up staying obviously, & ordered 8 beef Patties and a 6 chicken ones. The beef was the only ones I had tried previously and they were really good. The chicken were a lot bigger and of course cost more, but there is also more flavor in the chicken ones. I feel like although the chicken ones are bigger than the beef ones, I'm pretty sure they have the same amount of meat inside. The service is a bit eh , and not very welcoming. But I mean get your food and go and you'll be fine

I am so happy that my friend brought me to this restaurant. I remember coming here a long time ago but I forgot it existed. I tried a cod fish patty and the herring patty and they were delicious, the crust was buttery and extra flaky. They were fluffy and filling and I was pleased with the amount of fish in each patty. They had a lot of other baked goods in the restaurant and chicken and beef patties as well. I also tried a white milky looking drink called soursop, however, I was not a fan of that; it is definitely an acquired taste. The employees were pleasant and helpful mostly because my friend was speaking to them in creole and goes to this location often. I am going to this restaurant again soon just to have more of their patties because they were truly tasty.

Thank God they opened back up again, I can't be doing this without visiting my favorite Haitian Patties spot. If you are looking for good fluffy Haitian patties this is the place. I know there's a little competition going on between them and that other patties place ‍, well I'm here to say there's no competition. Le foyer is the best by a mile. Go down to Mattapan and enjoy one of their Haitian patties you will not be disappointed.

Love these Haitian patties and deserts. I recommend the beef and chicken. Not the fish. This is not a sit in place so grab your food and leave. The ladies behind the counter are kind people.

Great hatitan patties BUT the hours are not consistent. I'm tired of driving 35 mins to Mattapan to find out your closed.

For the little bit of meat they give in the patties, they really should have better customer service practices ‍..

Patties aren't the same as they used to be. They've gotten very skimpy on the meat fillings.

My sister in law brought the Legume Mirlinton... it's was a disaster... The Legume was swimming in oil with this brownish color from the over cooked vegetables. Y'all. Why did this restaurant have the audacity to take a 45 minutessss to make some noodles with no cheese and no seasoning. For $7. (See picture) I was so disappointed when I opened the bag to see that. So I decided to call the restaurant and the girl was patient with listening to me but when I told her I was expecting Haitian Mac and cheese she proceeded to say that is just how the restaurant prepares it and Mac and cheese isn't even a Haitian dish. I obviously know Mac and cheese is a southern comfort food clearly. But this doesn't even compare. Ordering from a restaurant that advertises as HAITIAN CUISNE/CREOLE I expected Haitian style Mac and cheese with ham and onions and etc. (Take creole out your name And webpages and maybe I won't expect Haitian style food or google how to make Haitian style food) but nope. I just received noodles. Easy Mac looks more appealing than this. Fortunately I am expecting a refund from Uber eats but there is definitely room for opportunity. Don't put things on the menu if you aren't going to be authentic. Don't say you serve creole cuisine if you aren't going to commit to actually doing so. UPDATE: I left the same image on their Facebook with a shorter review as the caption and they deleted it immediately. It goes to show they know that dish is unexceptionable.

There wasn't a single dish in there that I didn't like. The chicken was tender, the stew and legumes were flavorful, the rice was well cooked, the tostones were crispy, and the sweet plantains were truly ripe. I honestly wish they had a combo where they could do three mains and six sides cuz I would be into that! And a special shout out to the compostable packaging. Loved it.

Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. While the staff was friendly and welcoming, there was a little lack of coordination in the service but not so much that it detracted from the overall service. I decided to order the fried chicken, hoping for a flavorful experience, that Creole food is typical of, but I was sorely disappointed to find that it was completely devoid of seasoning--absolutely none! The taste was bland, and I found myself unable to enjoy it at all. After a few bites, I realized I couldn't force myself to eat it, so I ended up tossing it in the trash. Given that I was already some distance away from the restaurant at my next stop, returning it wasn't an option. I did take the time to call the restaurant and voice my concerns, but they l didn't offer any form of credit or compensation for the issue, so it only reinforced my decision not to return, as I couldn't see myself taking another chance on a meal that fell so flat. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially considering the hype surrounding this place.
