Living in the suburbs my whole life, coming to the country side is such a treat especially if it is the French countryside. The bigger treat was being able to enjoy a lovely dinner in one of the town's handful of restaurants.
This place reminds me of The Hundred-Foot Journey with Helen Mirren. It's in the middle of the country, the food here is delicious, and cooked on the spot. It's mainly the restaurant's exterior that reminds me of that movie, heheh.
The menu is divided into appetizer, main course and dessert, and you choose what you want from each section. From what I hear, it changes every now and then. I went with the garlic escargot as an appetizer, moussaka for my main dish, and a fruit cup for my dessert. Everything was delicious, and you can tell the chef puts care into his work.
The escargot was very well seasoned and the garlic flavor was just right. As for the moussaka, very comforting, but unfortunately I was sick, and I couldn't finish it. I thought the fruit cup would just be a fresh fruit cup, but you could tell they added some alcohol to enhance the flavor of the fruit. It also comes with a fresh baked butter cookie. Very delightful!
The restaurant has very nice ambiance as well. Dim lights, fireplace, high ceiling, this place is ideal for an intimate date. Great, personable service. It's just wonderful here!
I'm so lucky to be able to dine here all thanks to my aunt. read more
